Job Description

Senior Strategic Business Partner

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work remotely (100% from home). Regardless of geographic location, the successful candidate must be available to work East Coast Hours.

For those candidates located in Colorado, the salary range for this position is: $100,000 – $133,900

Summary

Consult with assigned executive leaders to manage high level projects from end to end, and to serve as the HR consultant on strategic and high-level issues to client groups. Provide consistent leadership support to clients and employees on key issues and inquiries; understand when inquiries should be redirected to another channel i.e. HR Service Center or escalated to Vice President. Partner and coordinate with Center of Expertise colleagues to deliver business initiatives and HR programs with broader impact including organization design, employee relations, succession planning, compensation/merit planning, special programs career coaching, and change management. Provide support, development and leadership guidance to volunteers. Participate in appropriate business executive meetings and may also represent Vice President at key leadership meetings.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate within the HR model, directly, or in partnership with other HR Centers of Expertise (COE), to deliver education, communication, and implementation of key HR services and programs.
  • Partner, facilitate, and manage key HR initiatives to assigned business unit executives within a functional area. Provide decision support and manage sensitive senior level employee relations, coaching, workforce planning (i.e. succession planning, turnover and retention strategies).
  • Manage complex business driven key projects from inception to completion. Track and monitor progress and understand when to engage others, to escalate, redirect to another service channel or partner with the COE.
  • Track trends and recommend solutions on union and non-union staff such as Engage/Pulse, performance, and programs.
  • Collect business intelligence and develop insight where the client’s needs can be ascertained and prioritized. Develop business unit talent and workforce strategy.
  • Diagnose business challenges, and design, develop or customize processes and solutions to best resolve those challenges. Exercise and role model exceptional and expert judgement that balances trade-off decisions to meets the needs of the business;.
  • Build strong relationships with business clients to proactively develop and execute major initiatives and plans that will positively support the business and achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Scope: Interpret and administer policies, process, and procedures that may affect sections and subordinate units.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Demonstrated project management skills, technologically savvy and comfortable using case management system, intellectual curiosity. Ability to build effective relationships and get work done through influence and collaboration. Demonstrated ability to operate with a sense of urgency, confidence and openness to breakthrough-thinking on people issues. Experience working with Labor Unions desired, as well as experience in an organization with a broad range of employee populations (e.g., client/service facing, healthcare, laboratory services, corporate, etc.)

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.

Travel: May travel 20-25% of the time and participate in meetings and conferences in support of business goals and objectives.

The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
