Here’s where you come in:

As the Senior Security Advisor – VFI, you will lead high-level advice, assurance and engagement activity in support of operational security delivery across VisionFund programmes working closely with leadership, the wider security network and key functional stakeholders. You will require a deep understanding of field security operations and organisational capabilities as well as excellent judgement and highly developed analytical, and management skills. A proven track record of delivery is essential as is experience in helping motivate others to deliver a challenging and complex agenda for change and performance improvement.

Requirements include:

  • At least 7 years or work-related experience in the professional security, resilience, business continuity, NGO or UN working at international level with international agencies, INGO’s, governments, military, law enforcement or private sector in a leadership role.
  • Sound knowledge of INGO security practices with proven experience in security risk assessments, security planning and crises management in the humanitarian context.
  • Direct application of security and risk management framework within complex NGO operating and organisational environments.
  • Understanding of implementing Core Security Requirements, Minimum Operating Security Standards or equivalent.
  • Experience in liaising with all levels of Government, IO & NGO’s.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. Must be prepared to travel to ‘high risk’ security environments at short notice. Will be expected to manage high stress security events professionally and with technical competence.
