The Senior Manager, Internal & Leadership Communications will have broad experience with employee relations, crisis management, and HR communication strategies. She/he will utilize newer communication channels, tools and technologies that effectively reach our internal audiences.

As a team leader, this role will manage an Internal Communications coordinator to support our 7,000 global employee workforce, and work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to problem-solve, advise on, and support executing complex org-wide initiatives.

The Senior Manager, Internal & Leadership Communications will serve as a strategic partner and thought leader to senior leadership to create content and develop communications tools that promote a wide range of organizational priorities and achievements, new policies and practices, employee campaigns, and culture & diversity initiatives.

Success in this role will lead to CARE USA delivering on its mission to encourage and celebrate innovation and collaboration throughout the global workforce. Excellent copywriting, editing, and creative concept development skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership Communications
    • Develop and implement communications strategies that support business goals and objectives for CARE USA. Advise and assist key stakeholders to manage change in the organization. Work collaboratively to deliver innovative and insightful, yet practical solutions for a range of challenges, simple and complex, by designing employee communication strategies and approaches.
    • Leadership work involves:
      • Partner with CEO, COO, CMO, and other Global Leadership Team members to advice and counsel on the use of internal communications and develop & distribute organization, change and people communications for strategic initiatives.
      • Craft clear and inspiring leadership communications across a variety of highly sensitive, confidential, or important operational topics.
  2. Internal Communications
    • Oversee all internal communication efforts for CARE (US & Global TownHall, Employee Events, Newsletters, Email Communications, etc)
    • Develop and manage comprehensive internal communications plan across all employee populations that includes a yearly internal communications calendar.
    • Ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency of messages that align with CARE’s mission, organizational priorities, diversity and inclusion.
    • Manage crisis communications issues as they arise.
    • Support Management in preparing and delivering key communications / events (e.g. presentations, Town Hall, celebration and teambuilding events, etc.).
    • Establish metrics, track progress and develop tools to improve communication effectiveness.
  3. Team Development
    • Motivate and monitor your team.
    • Foster a team that embraces CARE’s values and DEBI work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing.
  • 6+ years of Internal Communications, Change Communications, or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent, flawless, clear writing.
