Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a Global Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (GFOI) Associate Director for Asia-Pacific. Reporting to the VP GFOI, this role serves as a FOI fundraiser for Asia Pacific (AP) and contributes to strategic planning in the AP Area Office.

The Associate Director GFOI AP position can be based in either Manila (Philippines), Seoul (South Korea) or Bangkok (Thailand), with an expectation of about 20% of time spent traveling.

Job Summary:

  • In collaboration with National offices (NO) in the AP area and the Global FOI team, identify pipeline opportunities, targets and share FOI forecasts.
  • Together with the AP Branches/National Offices key fundraising representatives, coordinate prepositioning the AP Area Office, Regional and FOI donors and peers/partners HQs e.g. Washington, DC, USA, EU-Brussels etc.
  • Work to meet a high level of quality, productivity and service which leads to strong internal/external partnerships and FOI funding.
  • The successful postholder will be expected to meet, in partnership with the national offices’ teams, a target of approximately $5m. annually, increasing by 30% each year which in turn will contribute to program impact.
  • In accordance with HFHI’s global standards, policies and protocols, the postholder will develop and/or support and maintain all systems necessary for successful FOI fundraising e.g. Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • The GFOI-AD AP will represent and implement the GFOI Framework and contribute to strategic discussions, adaptive learnings, and a committed member of the GFOI team.
  • The postholder will work collaboratively and lead FOI capacity building of colleagues in the AP Region, including branches/national offices on all FOI fundraising approaches, tools and systems e.g. Go No Go, match funding, proposal development and project design, prepositioning at NO/Regional and donor HQ etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To actively develop relationships internally and externally, to strengthen the GFOI and AP national offices’ pipeline, targets, and forecasts (60% of the time):

    • Lead, contribute to and implement the Global FOI Framework and relevant AP FOI donor strategies in partnership with internal AP teams
      • For the current FOI priority countries in AP (currently Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal and Vietnam) convene monthly strategic meetings to monitor progress against KPIs and provide mentoring support to the Head RD’s in each of those locations
      • Coordinate a collaborative process with HFH-AP and national offices on FOI activities and decision making including the pre-positioning, forecasting, Go/No Go, proposal development processes and the review of proposals
      • Participate in meetings related to AP prepositioning either remotely or face-to-face
      • dentify opportunities through monthly forecasts and market intelligence to establish effective strategic FOI relationships to contribute to AP-HFHI FOI funding targets
      • Develop and manage external FOI relationships globally/regionally and support NOs to build their FOI relationships, all data included in CRM system
      • Lead administration for the GFOI-AD function including budgeting, key performance indicators and metrics, and related processes

To develop, capacity build and train staff on GFOI tools for effective fundraising (10% of the time)

    • Contribute to strengthening GFOI tools e.g. Go No Go and provide capacity building, training, support and advice to the HFHI network leading to the development of a cadre of FOI literate colleagues in the national offices and Area Office
      • Contribute to stewardship of awards in partnership with Grant Managers

Participates in processes of development and monitoring of regional and national strategic and tactical plans per the invitation of the Vice-President of AP ad/or the Area Management Team (15% of the time)

  • Leads and contributes to strategic and tactical plans from the FOI perspective and strengthens growth in this fundraising area
  • Participates in Quarterly Portfolio Reviews organized by the AP Area Office and leads the review of AP national offices/ branches FOI KPIs
  • Participates in Area Management Team meetings and initiatives that are important to move forward GFOI goals

To manage interns, and contractors (10% of the time)

  • Supervise the involvement of external contractors (e.g grant writers), interns

Any other duties as required (5%)

  • Other related duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Knowledge, Expertise and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Significant proven experience FOI partnership/fundraising experience
  • Experience in fundraising strategy development.
  • Strong experience of building funding relationships with institutional donors and forming partnerships with peers/for profits to secure large-scale project funding
  • Demonstrated success in completing multiple projects concurrently while balancing competing priorities; ability to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English with excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of a range of tools and approaches commonly used in the proposal development process e.g. logical frameworks, theory of change, MEAL approaches, budget development etc
  • Excellent team building skills and eagerness to mentor a growing team; experience training and guiding colleagues in other offices
  • Highly collaborative and solutions-oriented with a commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Computer literate; able to effectively use word-processing, spreadsheet, database and project software
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
  • Individual must be a highly collaborative convener of key stakeholders across the organization
  • Clear sense of personal ownership for the satisfaction of the FOI partner, as well as the satisfaction of Area Office, regions and HFHI in their collaborative experience in working with the Global FOI department

Preferred

  • Brings existing relationships with the top funders in the following sectors: housing/shelter, community development, and international development/human services
  • Capacity building experience
  • Working knowledge of customer relations management (CRM) system
  • Knowledge of and passion for Habitat for Humanity’s worldwide mission
  • Language skills in other AP regional languages
