UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a temporary position within the Director¿s Office of the Division of Human Resources (DHR) in our Headquarters in Geneva. The position is based in the Director¿s Office of the Division of Human Resources (DHR). DHR works with and supports UNHCR¿s highly dedicated, diverse and mobile workforce, over 19,000 people serving in 130 countries. Services provided cover all aspects of the employee journey, including assignment and recruitment, personnel administration, health and wellbeing, learning and development, inclusion & diversity, as well as strategic HR and vision-setting for the people function at UNHCR.

Organizational context In 2019, UNHCR launched its multi-year HR transformation, based on a field-driven partnership model with the aims of fostering a positive employee experience for all colleagues enabled by good people management and digital transformation. The DHR Director¿s Office is spear heading the strengthened partnership approach and acts as an agent of change and engagement. The incumbent reports to the Deputy Director and works closely with the Director, the DHR leadership team, the Director¿s front office, as well as various stakeholders across the organization (e.g. Transformation and Change Service, Enterprise Risk Management Service) as well as interlocutors outside UNHCR in particular around driving the global UN Future of Work agenda, where UNHCR is a key player.

The position We are seeking for candidates with; ¿ Strong strategic analysis capacity and political awareness. ¿ Excellent level of coordination skills. ¿ Hands on experience in change management processes. ¿ Strong communication skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders. ¿ Strong drafting skills to draft official reports or briefs for senior officials is essential. ¿ Knowledge of the organization and/or of human resources is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities

– Work closely with the DHR leadership team to elaborate long-term strategic vision for DHR and the HR function at UNHCR. – Support the DHR leadership on change initiatives and to coordinate the various components of the HR transformation. – Support the Director¿s overall strategic coordination of the HR transformation coherence with broader transformation initiatives, including our new HR digital solution Workday@UNHCR and the Business Transformation Programme (BTP). – Work closely with Senior DHR management and their teams to ensure that HR practitioners in the Division and beyond streamline the new ways of working enabled by Workday@UNHCR, for a smooth transition to simplified processes and more efficiencies. – Work with the communication officer and others for the development of outreach initiatives on the HR transformation and new ways of working. – Responsible for the preparation of the regular DHR business review meeting in close collaboration with DHR Leadership Team, including identifying, updating and analysing information on division-wide performance and efficiencies and key performance indicators. – Prepare reports on efficiencies both internally and externally. – As risk management focal person for DHR, coordinate and manage the division¿s contribution to existing Risk Registers and new products related to risk management. – Coordinate strategic initiatives for the division including the bi-annual planning process. – Prepare analysis, briefings and presentations as required. Contribute to the development of DHR¿s and global communication and other corporate products as required. – Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Education & Professional Work Experience Years of Experience / Degree Level For P4/NOD – 9 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 8 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 7 years relevant experience with Doctorate degree Field(s) of Education Human Resources; Law; or other relevant field
