Our friendly Retail Team is on the look out for a new Retail Area Manager. If you have an excellent communication skills, enjoys working in the customer service and managing the team by providing motivation and support, this is the role for you!

This role offers the opportunity to be part of one of the largest money transfer companies. The Retail Area Manager is the face of the company and represents Ria Financial Services both in the community and with its employees. Therefore, the Area Manager will demonstrate exceptional customer services, inspiration, and leadership to the store staff, from Trainee Cashiers to Supervisors and Store Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Management & Business:

Manage a portfolio of stores located in the designated region.

Implement the Retail Strategy in the region and perform regular management meetings with the Store Managers and teams to communicate, discuss and monitor the strategy implementation at store level and rectify shortfalls in performance if needed.

Developing, executing, and maintaining a Sales Action Plan for all the stores within the defined area, and coordinate all necessary actions to reach the fixed objectives in terms of transaction volumes, gross revenues for both MT and CE channels for all the stores and region.

Analyze and interpret trends (e.g., seasonality/YOY reports) at each area store to facilitate planning and participate in the preparation of forecasts and business plans.

Manage the overall costs associated to each store and perform quarterly review on efficiencies with a view to keep these to strict minimums

Operations & System:

Have an excellent product and systems knowledge that leads to the implementation and delivery of the required training programs for employees.

Oversee and/or make correction on monthly rotas for each store, ensuring adequate cover at each site. Replace and cover when required, critical operating positions at the stores to ensure the appropriate store performance and customer service levels are maintained

Be proficient on FXonline operations to function as a facilitator but also to identify any potential financial discrepancy, with money transfer and/or currency exchange and ensure they are reported to Finance Dept. and Retail Manager.

Being a security-protocol ambassador, ensuring all the procedures are followed up accordingly as per retail protocol, this will lead not only to business and staff safeness but also having a spot-on audit score.

Follow and maintain established procedures and adhere to UK legislation and Ria’s AML policies and procedures.

Assist with selection of new staff and train new team members.

Ensure the correct dressing of the store – POS is smart, neat, relevant, and up to date

Identify any issues related to IT equipment, general store and/or office appearance, and rectify accordingly.

Ensure all the stores are fully equipped with stationary supplies by making monthly orders.

Assist with incident investigations and risk assessments within 48hrs of any work-related injury and implement corrective actions following the investigation with the required timeframe.

Marketing:

Contribute to the retail marketing strategy by participating in the marketing meetings and supervising the implementation of marketing plans. Actively promote and inform store teams about our marketing campaigns, services, and products; ensuring that team members will follow.

Communication:

Keep tight communication with the RM, HR, Finance, FX specialist, and Marketing to function as synergy, and therefore achieve common objectives.

Conduct appraisals and performance reviews, propose promotions and transfers, organize trainings.

Communicate targets (Money Transfer, Currency Exchange, and New Customers) to store managers and teams on the 1st day of each month as well providing with specific feedback to store leaders in monthly basis.

Communicate effectively with staff about the services, conditions, and foreign exchange rates and pro-actively sell all services offered by Ria to maximize revenues and cross-selling opportunities.

Submit weekly planners in advance detailing your intended store visits, such visits should account for 80-90% of your time, followed by a weekly report showing your activities at each store.

Qualifications

Previous experience in customer service activities in a financial environment.

Leadership skills. The Retail Area Manager must keep the team motivated and resolve any staff conflicts.

Team player – ability to work as part of a team is essential.

Great verbal and writing communication skills.

Good aptitude for mathematics and figures.

Good character, honesty, and reliability.

Your positive attitude and effective communication skills will be essential to work alongside your team members and create outstanding services for the customers.
