R&D Chemist 2 – Protective and Floor Coating

Develop and maintain products, in consultation with Manager/senior chemist, by preparing, testing and evaluating paint/binder/raw materials contributing to the reaching the goals put up in R&D plan.


Required Education and Experience: Bachelor with minimum 4 years experience OR Master with minimum 2 years experience OR PhD entry-level

Language Skills: Must be proficient in verbal and written English

Carry out required development and maintenance tasks by planning, formulating, testing and evaluating recipes and raw materials. This is carried out in consultation with a Senior Chemist or Manager and in accordance with the R&D plan.
Report results from development and maintenance work both orally and written through R&D and tertiary reports to ensure that the correct decisions, based on current experience, are made.
Search for and make use of knowledge through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses to be in a position to work more independently with more complex R&D tasks.
Have recipe responsibility for assigned products through maintenance and following up towards production and marketing to ensure that the quality of the product satisfies the market requirements and environmental demands.
Participate in project work and project groups with professional and practical input.
Knowledge and use of necessary safety equipment as described and to take into consideration general safety, this includes being able to understand content and the meaning of safety data sheets.
Attend to the daily order in the laboratory so that the work space is tidy, safe and pleasant.
Contribute to developing and maintaining products under guidance from a Senior Chemist or Manager, by preparing, testing and evaluating recipes, and raw materials according to the R&D plan.
