About NSPPL :
The National Syrian Project for prosthetic limbs (NSPPL ) has been established in Feb 2013 by a group of Syrian doctors overseas to help the people whose parts have been imputed as a result of the Syrian war and provide them with prosthetic parts and the appropriate rehabilitation , and licensed in Syria in Feb 2025 as The Syrian Foundation for Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation.
NSPPL is a non-profit organization which serves people in Syria and Turkey.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conducting a biopsychosocial assessment of beneficiaries and identifying response priorities.
- Conducting consultations for beneficiaries in workplace (Static team and mobile team) according to the evidence-based manuals and interventions endorsed by MHPSS NW Syria Technical Working Group.
- Support beneficiaries in developing a participatory recovery plan (with step-by-step recovery goals) based on needs and problems and strengths according to the endorsed manuals and interventions, in addition to continuous follow-up according to their care plans.
- Providing the necessary psychological education for beneficiaries, caregivers, and family members and on community level.
- Participate in linking beneficiaries to services appropriate to their needs when a higher level of counselling and interventions is needed (referral system and monitoring completed internal and external referrals), including coordination with gap doctors and other service providers to meet the additional needs of beneficiaries.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of beneficiary information documented in clinical evaluation forms and electronic and paper clinical copies, while ensuring the quality of documentation of beneficiary files and information.
- Participate in raising awareness of mental health disorders, psych-social support (including suicide prevention), and the rights of people who suffer from them at the individual and societal levels.
- Participation in ongoing group and individual technical supervision sessions
- Attending training and workshops actively and working on continuous self-capacity development continuously.
- Coordinate and work with the team leader and technical supervisor closely especially in critical and high-risk cases, especially suicide attempts.
- Provide regular weekly and monthly updates and reports to the team leader and the technical supervisor.
- Closure of beneficiaries’ files in the end of receiving the service according to the endorsed modules and procedures in the organization.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of beneficiaries’ information.
Qualifications & requirements:
- Diploma or University Degree in Psychology – Counseling
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of specialization
- Ability to communicate in Arabic and English is preferable
