This is achieved through both emergency and development projects, in support of the most vulnerable categories – children, women, elderly and social outcasts, supporting them in meeting their needs with the objective of promoting self-sufficiency in a sustainable future.

The Project Accountant and Cashier will work towards the implementation of projects “Promoting access to livelihoods and income stabilization for vulnerable IDPs, refugees and returnees families in Iraq”

The collaboration will start on April 1st, 2022

The Project Accountant and cashier will work within the framework of the above-mentioned project.

 

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Accountant and Cashier will have the following tasks:

Ensures the correct monthly financial updates, forecast preparation, and reporting, in the respect of CESVI and the Donor Procedures

  1. Update the Prime Entry and Budget and Forecast Update (BFU) on a monthly basis, in coordination with PM, Admin & Log Manager and submit to Projects Accountant (HQ);
  2. Prepare bank books weekly updates and monthly bank reconciliation;
  3. Ensure that appropriate documentation for all financial transactions is in place, properly authorized, and properly filed;
  4. Ensure adequate and timely communication with the Admin & Log Manager and PM regarding the financial flow;
  5. Provide inputs for the drafting of the interim and final financial reports, in coordination with the Admin & Log Manager and PM.

Ensure the correct cash management and completeness of proofs of payments

  1. Ensure the correct petty Cash management and Cash books updates on a daily basis;
  2. Prepare cash count on a weekly basis and cash reconciliations on a monthly basis;
  3. Ensure the correct recording (in the cash and bank books) of the proofs of payment, as well as their completeness and respect of Admin & Procurement procedures;
  4. On a monthly basis, handover the complete proofs of payments and supporting documents to PM for archiving;
  5. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed on time for payments for procurement, utilities, rent, internet, and other logistics-related financial obligations;
  6. Process any other payment request given by the Admin & Log Manager/PM/HoM;

Ensure adequate support for the logistics department.

  1. Work in collaboration with the Admin & Logistic Manager to ensures that all necessary procurements’ supporting documents are collected and complete;
  2. Support the Operational Manager in the preparation of the procurement documents according to the Organization’s formats, to the final acceptance of the goods distribution/installation or service provision;
  3. Perform all the tasks requested by the Admin & Logistic manager in logistics-related matters;
  4. Under the supervision of the Admin & Logistic manager, process the payments related to the functioning of the office (rent, bills, equipment; stationery, and other relevant running costs);

 

Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum 3-year experience in accountancy and cashier work
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the development/humanitarian sector
  • Proficient in excel spreadsheets and databases

 

Skills

  • Excellent writing and organizational skills, with high attention to details
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and listening communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an outgoing personality
  • Ability to stay up to date with current news, trends, and studies related to business processes
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, willingness to collaborate in problem-solving
  • Fluency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish languages is required
  • Valid driving license and the ability to drive a car
