JOB SUMMARY

SCOPE

Orphans and Child Welfare Associate in Syria: responsible for the smooth and successful to assist implementation of the One-to-One Program ” orphans sponsorship project ” in IR Turkey in cooperation with Orphans and Child Welfare Officer by preparing annual progress reports for orphans sponsored, and working to propose solutions to help them to develop their life and to meet their urgent needs.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in the implementation of an orphan sponsorship program in Turkey in line with IRW policies and procedures.
• Assist the Orphans and Child Welfare Officer on the sustainable and manageable expansion of the orphans’ programs within the agreed regions.
• Assist Orphans and Child Welfare Officer to prepare all progress reports of the Orphans Welfare Program and share them with partners as per the agreed process and deadlines.
• Assist the Orphans and Child Welfare officer in sponsoring disbursing and other aids to the Orphans.
• Assist the Orphans and Child Welfare officer in designing and implementing Program activities as needed.
• Responsible for archiving all data of orphans and their families and maintaining their confidentiality.
• Responsible for updating the sponsored orphans’ bio-data in the system.
• Responsible for following up on the needs of other sponsored orphan families and submitting them to the line manager for study.
• Responsible for following up on the academic achievement of the sponsored orphans and suggesting online motivational activities for their academic development.
• Responsible to prepare and upload orphans progress reports in the system.
• Responsible to write orphan case studies to support the marketing and fundraising for the OSP.
• Responsible to maintain orphan’s files and documentation, with key documentation according to IRW policies.
• Responsible to perform any other duties as and when required by the management.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

The post holder must show a good understanding and sympathy with the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to Islamic Relief Worldwide’s vision and mission.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from any university or institute, and priority is given to the following departments: development studies, social sciences, psychology, business management, English, or relevant qualification is desirable.
• Ability to respond to a dynamic and changing environment and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate effectively with rights holders permanently.
• Skills in writing and preparing reports periodically with commitment to the specified time frames.
• Communication and time management skills and priority is given to those who have certificates to attend related courses.
• Preferred to have at least six month of experience in any work, and priority is given to those who have experience in the work of organizations, especially with the orphans.
• Female is required.

Language

• Required to be Fluent in Arabic language written and spoken.
• Required to be good in English language written and spoken.

IT skills

• Very Good computer skills are required .
• Proficiency in the internet and search tools.
• Proficiency in MS office and the ability to use the software necessary for project management and reporting. (Excel and word are a must)
