Overview of position
Under the overall supervision of the Head of the Sub-Office and the direct supervision of Logistics Officer in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, the successful candidate will assist in the planning, delivery and distribution of various supplies and materials.
Role objectives
-
Responsible for the clearing and receiving of imported materials, including close coordination with the Warehouse Manager on the physical inspection and count of materials, production of receiving reports and other required paperwork.

Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager on the withdrawals of supplies and materials, and the completion of all required paperwork.

Assist with local procurements as needed.

Coordinate closely with Distribution Supervisors to ensure teams depart for the field work with all necessary supplies and materials needed to successfully complete distributions and field work.

Help to ensure work is being carried out safely, efficiently and in line with our client standards and policies.

Communicate, in a timely manner, to the Logistics Officer, Operations Officer and Head of Sub-office any potential obstacles or issues that would impede program activities.

Assist in the evaluation of distribution/logistics processes to ensure the our client standard of transparency, ethics and efficiency are met. Report on the status of all missions, field teams, and current state of logistics operations as requested.

Strictly adhere to our client’s policies and procedures including prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse and promotion of a respectful work environment.

Undertake work related travel at the request and approval of the COM.

Other duties as assigned and needed to support the program objectives.

Key competencies
EDUCATION
-
Bachelor’s degree in preferably in Logistics, Business Administration or any related field with three years of professional work experience.

Completed secondary education with five years of relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE
-
Experience in logistics and warehouse operations
-
Experience in shipping, receiving, stocking, housekeeping, and inventory control
-
Experience working with government, non-government organization and/or international organization
SKILLS
-
Working knowledge in emergency services, development, or disaster-related fields.

Understanding of logistical and human resource challenges faced in small island developing states
-
Strong time management and prioritization skills, able to handle multiple tasks
-
Excellent planning, communication and organizational skills
-
Good interpersonal skills
