DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a motivated, results-oriented Learning Area Manager to support the first Amazon AIR Hub in the EU Region located in Schkeuditz, Leipzig Airport.

The Learning Manager will be responsible for formulating and implementing the strategy for learning and development initiatives, supporting EU Amazon Air Operations. We are looking for a team player who not only leverages their team onsite to respond effectively to a variety of training scenarios, but is able to work closely between the Operations customer and the Global AIR team. The Learning Manager will be responsible for improving Safety, Quality, and Performance results, with a focus on associate training and leader onboarding and development. The Learning Manager will need to invent in order to simplify and be able to operate successfully in a space where there is high ambiguity and a great need to partner with other Learning orgs for best practices and resources.

Key job responsibilities

  • Foster the development and growth of Amazon employees (i.e., mentoring, teaching, etc.
  • Contribute to and implement training programs for associates, managers, trainers and others (i.e., participating in and conducting needs analysis, skills development classes, cross-training, manager leadership training, etc.)
  • Facilitate training classes; communicate policies and procedures to managers and new employees as needed
  • Directly supervise Tier 3 Trainers and indirectly direct the work of Tier 1 Ambassadors
  • Build relationships and influence your site leadership team colleagues to address issues that inhibit effective learning
  • Ensure network standard training programs are implemented and consistently utilized as required throughout the organization
  • Excellent communicator, in fluent written and spoken English and ideally also in German, with the ability to communicate at all levels of seniority within a large organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • 3+ years in a training and/or content management role
  • 2+ years working in an operations environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Business and Leadership Coaching.
  • Experience in change management and process improvement activities, designing scalable solutions and implementing these at pace and at scale.
  • Familiar with instructional design principles and have created, edited and administered training content and programs.
  • Fluency in additional European languages is desirable.
  • The ability to work in fast-paced ambiguous environments, adapting quickly to changing circumstances, processes and priorities.
