With more and more customers to be served in Europe, Amazon is opening new Fulfillment Centers every year. The EU Startup Team is responsible for getting these buildings ready with everything in place ready for the first package to leave the site. The vision of Startup Supply Chain team is to provide excellent support to 40 deployment projects per year, ensuring on time supply & assembly of about 4000 items per project, from over 500 suppliers in 12 countries.

The EU Startup Supply Chain team is looking for a motivated Supply Chain Manager to run the Third-Party Assembly coordination. Successful candidates will be natural self-starters and quick learners. The goal is to coordinate and manage External Contractors for the assembly of the new Fulfillment Center fit-outs. Your primary role will be to define and deploy strategy for all external contractors in the entire EU, UK and MENA perimeter (about 12 countries – 2000 to 2500 external workers in total). You will coordinate Third Party Contractors who are in charge of Asset handling and drive the processes for warehousing. Job will also include deep dive into processes, definition of new procedures and set up of policy guidelines to maximize efficiency over all facilities.

Role to be based in Continental Europe, Ideally Barcelona, Luxembourg or Berlin

You will liaise with 10 to 15 vendors from tender activity to on-site execution follow-up, with the objective of improving efficiency, reduce cost and provide an excellent customer level for construction activities.

Your key partners will be Procurement, Project Managers and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficiency over the entire chain and frugal approach to maximize savings.

Key job responsibilities

  • Maximize safety and ergonomics standard into all Third-party related activities to ensure a safe environment over all Amazon sites.
  • Define and execute strategy for all Contractors activities related to Assembly of Warehouse fit outs
  • Define and implement the required Service Level according to Project Deployment needs and in coordination with Startup Project Managers.
  • Coordinate tender and execution in close collaboration with Procurement team
  • Coordinate a team to perform daily, weekly and monthly activities to ensure Third Party activities are performed on time, in the right place and at the optimal cost.
  • Monitor activities on site over 40 deployment projects through audit and control checks on regular basis and ensure all workers are working in safe conditions and healthy environment
  • Investigate work flows and propose improvements for Inbound, Storage and Outbound processes.
  • Monitor performance of external contractor
  • Define and implement solid policies and procedures to ensure safety, standardization and scalability
  • Set up control measures to ensure procedure and policies guidelines are met.
  • Propose safety measures, security upgrades and improvement initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy and alignment with Finance team.
  • Drive reporting of Third-Party Assembly status and monitor accuracy.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Project Coordination or Supply Chain role
  • Experience in project-focused businesses like construction, Oil&Gas, e-commerce, warehousing deployment, industrial deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience with External Vendor Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Excellent team management skills with experience in complex organization distributed over multiple locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of dealing with both internal and external customers/suppliers at all levels.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within Europe.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Procurement
  • Supply Chain Certification (APICS, CIPS, CSCMP, SCPro Council or equivalent)
  • Experience in large corporate company with complex supply chain processes and multiple inventory locations.
  • Experience in project management and implementation with proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful
  • Excellent communication skills, English at CEFR level C2, including the proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet organizational capacity needs.
