Asian Disaster Preparedness Center

Purpose and Objectives:

Under the approved work plan sub-components related to PPF, and aligning with World Bank’s Green Resilient Inclusive Development (GRID) approach. ADPC’s PPF team will facilitate countries to access International Climate Finance through The Green Climate Fund (GCF). ADPC’s accreditation to GCF will enable to build National institutional capacities in project countries and overall support World Banks ‘Climate and Development’ in South Asia. Additionally, ADPC’s accreditation will contribute to leveraging climate finance funds for innovative climate change adaptation projects in the region. To expedite ADPC accreditation process to GCF, a series of steps / processes under the GCF accreditation requirements needs to be fulfilled for ADPC to qualify to access climate funds, and also support the current project activities in assisting countries in gaining access to international climate finance including support accreditation process for national and sub-national entities to access GCF.

Expected Outputs:

  • Document step-wise GCF accreditation process and requirements
  • ADPC internal department documents analyzed and processed
  • ADPC GCF nomination documents analyzed and processed

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Support in developing a matrix for ADPC accreditation to GCF under 2 processes:
  1. Readiness Support accreditation criteria (Financial Management Capacity Assessment: https://www.greenclimate.fund/document/financial-management-capacity-assessment-template )
  2. Accreditation as Regional Organization: https://www.greenclimate.fund/accreditation/process
  • Support in coordinating within Key Departments listed under the matrix and profiling all necessary documents for ADPC nomination under Readiness Support and Accreditation
  • Support in documenting all GCF processes and requirements
  • Supporting in liaising with member country teams to develop Readiness concept notes and proposals

Working Principles: The intern will report to Regional Climate Finance Specialist (GCF Focal Person) and maintain close coordination with PPF team.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing master’s degree related on climate change, management and finance or have a completed bachelor’s degree in environmental management or business management related fields from a recognized university
  • Additional experience in administration and finance
  • Well versed with using MS applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and mapping software tools
  • Knowledge in Partner mapping and Project Management tools will be an added advantage

Duty Station: Bangkok, Thailand or remote

Duration: 8 August 2022 – 7 February 2023

Condition of payment: USD 320 per month for 6 months upon submission of monthly timesheet
