Health coordinator – Kiev – Ukraine

Context

A major player in the social and solidarity economy, the French Red Cross runs a network of more than 600 establishments and services in the health, medical and social sectors and in training.

It also runs 12 regional health and social training institutes.

As a member of the world’s largest humanitarian network, the French Red Cross employs more than 17,000 people who, through more than 70 professions, put their professionalism at the service of the most vulnerable in medical-educational institutes, day-care centres, retirement homes, functional rehabilitation centres, emergency accommodation centres, training centres, international missions, etc.

Ukraine is facing a humanitarian crisis that continues to develop every day. As hostilities escalate, a growing number of people is being displaced every day within Ukraine and across international borders, with more than 3 million having fled the country. With the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and neighboring countries deteriorating rapidly, the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement has activated all its emergency response mechanisms. Together ICRC, IFRC and National Societies are undertaking a rapid and coordinated response.

The Position

In the context of the opening of the mission in Ukraine, and under the authority of the Head of Delegation and in close collaboration with him/her, the health coordinator is in charge of planning and monitoring programs and projects implemented in the field of health by French Red Cross (FRC) in Ukraine. He/she is functionally linked to the technical health referent at the FRC headquarters in Paris.

Candidate profile

Educational background and experiences:

● Medical degree and Master or university degree in public health3 years as a practicing physician

● 5 years in the management and coordination of health projects – MCH, Primary Health Care, Nutrition, HIV AIDS, etc.

● Collaboration with NGOs or IOs appreciated

● Proper knowledge of CRF and RCRC Movement would be an asset

Skills:

● Knowledge of HIV/AIDS topics, particularly in the geographic area

● Knowledge of initial health assessment methods

● Ability to write projects and develop activities in connection with the host National Society

● Ability to train, autonomy, representation, human relations, delegation

● Knowledge in project management

● Knowledge of budget management and donor reports

● fluent French

● English mandatory (oral and written); any other language of the region would be an asset
