The purpose of the Finance officer position is day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities.
Generic responsibilities
- Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
Specific responsibilities
- Verify payments in accordance with the established FO limit.
- Ensure timely updates of Logistics and CO Finance trackers.
- Collaborate with the Logistics department to ensure monthly closure of Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in Unit4.
- Support in reconciling Balance Sheets for AO4 transactions, covering areas such as staff accruals, supplier payables, and amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Support in the coordination of all Hawala payments, ensuring data accuracy and timely cash delivery to relevant stakeholders.
- Revision of Cash for Work payments, including daily workers, community-based workers, and drivers… etc.
- Support in reconciling intercompany charges.
- Ensure complete archiving, ensuring that all transactions are properly documented and archived with full supporting documents.
- Collaborate with the Finance Coordinator and Country Office during audits by providing documentation for selected samples related to AO4 and addressing any comments or questions on transactions
Professional competencies.
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a humanitarian/recovery context or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office (MS Excel, Word, PPT, and outlook).
- Very Good knowledge of English
