Education & Youth Coordinator – National Position

  Generic responsibilities

Line management of Education and Youth project field staff.
Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
Contribute to Education strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps.
Manage and implement delegated portfolio of (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from PM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality.
Provide regular progress reports to program Manager (Area Manager if no program Manager).
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

Specific responsibilities

Manage and support the start-u NRC���������s education and youth project in Anbar, including the planning and implementation of activities as well as management of Education and youth team and community facilitators.
Manage staff performance using NRC���������s Performance Management system.
Draft concept papers, proposals for new activities to expand the education/youth programme and for the continuation of on-going activities, in coordination with the Education and Youth Project Manager and Education Specialist.
Draft donor reports for on-going projects, in coordination with the Project Manager.
Lead key programme development discussions with field staff for follow up with Project Manager and Education Specialist.
Regularly travel to the field to support and monitor education and youth activities
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders such as MoE.
If applicable, support Cluster co-lead management; serve as liaison with stakeholdMoE/Department of Education.
Assess needs for capacity building among education staff and local resource persons and partners and discuss actions with PM.
Any other task relevant to the position as requested by line manager

Experience from working in a site-level management role in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience working with youth in an educational/training context (preferably employability training/labor market background)
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position���������s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
