Hungarian Interchurch Aid (HIA)

  Hungarian Interchurch Aid is a community that provides those in need or in crisis with efficient assistance through the power of unity. Our main objective is to facilitate the integration of families seeking a way out of poverty. In our international operations we work with local partners to ensure adequacy with real community needs.
HIA has been present in Iraq since 2016 with an established office, implementing both humanitarian actions and early recovery/development projects in livelihood, education, shelter and WASH. The current vacancy is related to a complex and large scale livelihood project that is part of a regional program and is running until August 2023.
Besides offering general support in the operation of the organization, tasks would include but are not restricted to:
– Managing relations with local implementing partners
– Monitoring activities and reporting on projects/components implemented by partners and by the organization
– Being focal point on communication and visibility
– Content creation: conducting interviews, writing up reports, creating stories, materials and supporting actions to promote visibility
– Experience in either or more of the following fields is a plus
– micro business development activities (organizing business development trainings and granting, etc.) or
– in civil society development activities (supporting small community-based organizations, empowering communities, social enterprise promotion, etc.)
– agriculture projects (with a special preference on regenerative agriculture approaches).

Traveling within KRI, Nineveh (Telafar, Mosul, Sinjar), and Kirkuk is required with possible overnight in HIA guesthouse or ho Bachelor degree; Masters preferred
Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is a must
Fluency in spoken (and written) Turkmani and Kurdish is highly desired
Experience in working with NGOs is highly valued
High level of expertise in Microsoft Office software is desired
The candidate is expected
