Terre des hommes Foundation ��������� Helping children worldwide (Tdh), is the leading Swiss foundation for children���������s aid, with its headquarters in Lausanne, and registered in Iraq with the No 2178598. Tdh aims to create a positive impact on children’s lives in almost 40 countries around the world, through our Health, Access to Justice, Migration and Child Protection transversal programmes.
Tdh started its operations in Iraq in Dec 2014 responding to needs of children and youth between the age group of 9-22 years, affected by the ISIL -driven crisis of 2014-2017. Due to high unmet needs for children, youth, and their families affected by the crisis, Tdh scaled up its interventions to 12 districts within 5 governorates (Anbar, Kirkuk, Ninewa, Baghdad & Salah al-Din), providing assistance in child protection, juvenile justice, education and WASH assistance in emergency.
In the long-term, through its Multi-year Country Strategy 2022 tots long term Vision for the Country Programme, Tdh plans to reinforce and expand interventions due to the persistent overwhelming needs of children, youth and families through a NEXUS approach, responding to the protracted humanitarian needs while contributing to achieving durable solutions for the most vulnerable and at-risk population groups in the sectors of Child Protection, Education, WASH and Access to Justice for children, youth and women.
As of November 2021, Tdh with its 90 staff employees, is currently implementing a 7,5 Million CHF emergency, rehabilitation, and development program, across the country through its bases and offices in Baghdad, Ninewa, Salah al-Din and Kirkuk governorates working alongside and in collaboration with local partners and national authorities. The main donors are USG, UNOCHA, ECHO, SDC, GIZ, UNICEF. The main coordination office is in Erbil with a multi-cultural, very experienced, and highly motivated team providing support, technical expertise and ensuring accountability, while working closely with the collaborators in the Regional office in Amman, Jordan and the Head Quarters (HQ) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

About the Job
Tdh is implementing Access to Justice programs in Baghdad and one of the key activities under this project is to support the successful reintegration of children into the society once they are released from the detention centre. One of the key needs of the children in the detention centre and during the reintegration process is Mental Health and Psycho Social Support (MHPSS). The Clinical Psychologist will provide technical support to the project team in dealing with the cases needing MHPSS, build capacities of the project team including government and non- government partners through trainings and working together and provides direct MHPSS services as and when required.
Main Responsibilities:
Individual and group counselling:

Supports the project team in quality MHPSS activity planning and implementation as identified in the care plan of the child uncase management.
Conduct psychosocial assessments, including assessment of mental health needs and suicide risk assessment.
Plan and support the implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions (individual and/or group) utilizing appropriate and evidence-based interventions. Evaluate the outcomes of interventions and identify additional aftercare needs

Provide capacity building to Tdh staff and partners��������� staff:

Develop training material and provide training and capacity building to projects��������� staff, project stakeholders and partners on child and adolescent psychosocial care, MHPSS awareness, positive coping mechanisms in close coordination with CP Coordinator, Access to Justice Coordinator and MHPSS Project Manager.
Ensure technical oversight and field-monitoring of the program staff with particular focus on the Lay counsellors, in close coordination with program managers, notably to ensure quality control and adequate implementation of the planned tools and frameworks.
Assess the knowf Tdh implementing partners, government counterparts and prepare mid- and long-term capacity building plan in coordination with the Technical Coordinators and Project Manager and support the implementation of the plan.

Monitoring and Reporting:
������

Support the maintenance of MHPPS database and provide analysis of the data to the Technical Coordinator upon request.
Prepare and share reports on MHPSS response, needs, gaps with recommendations with the Technical Coordinators as and when required.
Provide inputs to the periodic internal, external and donor reporting on the part of MHPSS components.

Networking and Coordination

Work always in close collaboration and coordination with the project team.
Build external relations on the areas of MHPSS with government and non-government stakeholders in coordination with the Project Team and Technical Coordinators.

Other

Fully comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensure Child Safeguarding Policy is respected at all times.
Ensure adherence to Tdh standards ity requirements in all the MHPSS responses. .
Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the CP Technical Coordinator who will further collaborate with the A2J Technical Coordinator for needed guidance. Competencies: This function requires the mastery of Personal, Social and Leadership Competencies (PSLC), Technical and Methodological Competencies (TMC) and Management and Strategic Competencies (MSC)

A degree in Clinical Psychology
At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in psychology, individual and group counselling with a minimum of 6-month work experience with NGOs.
Knowledge of child protection, psychosocial support (PSS), psychological first aid (PFA), case management (CM), gender-based violence (GBV) and others related topics.
Strong training and capacity-building skills, particularly using participatory techniques for training on different components of CP programming including case management and MHPSS.

Other requirements:

������������������ m management and leadership skills and proven supervisory skills.

������������������������������������������������������ Flexibility, adaptability and high work capacity to ensure activities and technical management/coordination support in a timely manner to achieve project results.

������������������������������������������������������ Competent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
