The Talent Team are looking for an Early Careers and Internship Lead to design and deliver a diverse and inclusive Early Careers’ strategy, focusing on Graduate, Apprentice and Internship programmes.

As part of the wider Talent Team, you will contribute to Wellcomes’ goal to be an Early Careers employer of choice by developing compelling and varied learning experiences, with accountability for the full lifecycle from initial attraction and recruitment through to development and progression of early career talent.

In this role you will

  • Design and deliver our Early Careers strategy, to include Graduate, Internships and Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Source, select, assess, recruit, manage and develop graduates, apprentices and interns.
  • Review and enhance Wellcome’s Early Careers recruitment branding including advertising through social media and relevant websites
  • Partner with managers and teams across Wellcome to identify suitable and appropriate opportunities; help creating job descriptions
  • Manage our early career events (e.g. school, college and campus events) strategy including the design and planning of internal events, aimed at attracting prospective early career talent and building Wellcome’s brand
  • Drive, develop, design consistent and fair assessment and selection processes to ensure we fulfill our D&I goals (online application form, video interviews and assessment centres)
  • Define and manage the full life cycle of apprenticeships including sourcing training providers and reconciling Levy spend
  • Support both early careers candidates and managers with on-going feedback, mentoring, coaching and development opportunities
  • Manage the budget for graduate, apprenticeship and internship programmes working with Head of T&D and finance to forecast
  • Be the owner of the risk and control environment for your area and be accountable for the quality of you and your team’s outputs

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Previous experience with early careers talent attraction, assessment, selection, management and development.
  • Proficiency in the use of ATS (ideally Workday and Applied recruitment software)
  • Working experience across all Talent and People functions (i.e. recruiting, business partnering, Employee Relations, Learning & Development)
  • Experience in change management; demand and resource planning; training design and facilitation.

Salary: £ 58,608

We recognise that our colleagues have commitments and personal interests outside of work and we strive to build a flexible working environment, in which people can perform at their best. We are currently working 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from our Euston Road offices as part of a hybrid working pilot (until March 2022) with the remaining 3 days from home.
