Job Description

PURPOSE

Supports Customer Service, Scheduling, and Commercial organization. Provides legendary customer service support to all customers and vendors. Aids schedulers with inventory application and fills in as a backup Scheduler as needed. Provide pricing desk support upon absence, as well as price increase/decrease system updates. Also facilitates LTL and full truckload quote requests while utilizing pocket margin and E-biz tools to deliver the highest profitability rates for the PPS division.

The position will collaborate with Customer Service, Scheduling, Pricing Desk, and Commercial teams to support all customers and vendors. Works collaboratively with MG and IT teams to support the PPS organization as necessary.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Perform all required duties and tasks in accordance with Greif’s accounting policies, financial control procedures, and Greif’s Golden rules.
  • Provide legendary customer service to all customers and vendors for brokerage.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of mill operations, including converting. Develop a thorough understanding of all coated & uncoated grades.
  • Manage URB/CRB consignment accounts. Communicate with all sales representatives, facilities, and customers to maintain an accurate flow of products from the beginning to the end of the consignment process.
  • Communicate requests or changes to scheduling, converting, and shipping beyond 72-hour schedule block. No changes are to be made within a 72-hour schedule block.
  • Resolves problems efficiently and effectively. Process customer corrective actions/disputes via dispute tool.
  • Answer customer calls and responds to all calls/emails in a timely fashion in accordance with Greif’s Golden Rules.
  • Assist Schedulers with reviewing unscheduled orders against inventory and allocate the found working capital to orders.
  • Work with Schedulers to develop a thorough knowledge of scheduling each machine.
  • Work with Pricing Desk Coordinator to develop a thorough knowledge of price book changes, LTL, and full truckload quotes.
  • Back-up where needed/requested by the manager in Customer Service, Scheduling, and Pricing Desk.
  • Provide support to the sales team.
  • Attend planned daily/weekly customer service and allocation meeting calls.
  • Keep an organized file system of hard copy customer and system purchase orders, as well as, saving the customer hard copy PO to the operating system order.

Additional Functions And Responsibilities

  • Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Greif’s Standards of Business
  • Work with IT/BI&A to develop reports Customer Service, Scheduling, and Commercial teams may need.
  • Run reports for management upon request.
  • Streamline order processing.
  • Enters completed orders into system.
  • Ensures a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Perform other duties as may be customary with position or as assigned by manager.

  • Must have strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly detailed, organized, and team-oriented.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communications, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and able to operate proficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to think critically is essential.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to act in good judgment from prior experience is a must.
  • Must have PC skills in Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to work under immediate supervision.
  • Superior interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to resolve problems.
  • Must be open to travel

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./ B.S.) and four to six years relevant experience; or ten to twelve years related experience and/or training.
