WHO WE ARE AND WHAT DO WE DO…

The Humanitarian Logistics Cooperative (also known as “hulo”) is the first humanitarian cooperative connecting actors and pooling resources to optimize logistics & supply chain. Hulo’s members are ACTED, Action contre la Faim, BIOPORT, the French Red Cross, Handicap International / Humanity & Inclusion, Intersos, Médecins du Monde, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International, Première Urgence International, and Solidarités International.

Its objective is to increase the impact of humanitarian aid by strengthening links and solidarity between humanitarian logistics actors and improving performance through the pooling of logistics and supply chain resources and expertise.

Hulo was created in June 2021, and today its permanent team is composed of around 20 people, spread over 5 countries (our HQ in Montreuil, and 4 operating countries). We foresee an important growth in the coming months as we are in the scaling up phase of our young and dynamic structure. With the launch of the new brand “hulo” in February 2023, communication has become an important topic for our organisation that needs to be structured and professionalized.

We are looking for a motivated person, convinced by our innovative project, with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy, with flawless writing skills in both French and English, able to master the digital communication contributing to hulo’s success and visibility. Hulo’s communication is oriented towards the humanitarian community as a whole, operational partners and donors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Mission 1: Manage and lead the implementation of the communication strategy.

  • Support the management team on the definition of the communication strategy.
  • Define and steer the communication implementation plan.
  • Identify upstream the participants to be involved within each department and coordinate their productions.
  • Produce communication deliverables, ensure editorial and visual design, and formatting of deliverables.
  • Set up a CRM and regular external communications, such as newsletters and LinkedIn posts.

Mission 2: Build hulo’s communication framework and tools.

  • Build an editorial line, ensure consistency in external communications.
  • Build a database of communication material (logo, photos, templates, graphs etc…) and capitalization tools.
  • Interact with all team members on their needs and on the support expected from the Communication Officer.
  • Follow-up on hulo communication commitments towards donors (in line with the communication plan).
  • Ensure the respect of the graphic charter and the compliance with donor rules.

Mission 3: Develop hulo’s digital brand.

Website

  • Liaise with the service provider for the finalisation, evolution, maintenance of the existing website.
  • Lead the production of the website content in close collaboration with all departments.
  • Identify the needed website evolutions and coordinate these evolutions.
  • Coordinate the production and posting of articles on the website.
  • Manage the hosting and maintenance provider of the website.
  • Monitor the audience assessment, tracking & analytics of the site.

Social media

  • Produce and publish posts according to the validated communication plan.
  • Provide social media audience assessments.
  • Coordinate (internally and with suppliers) the production of videos, graphic design, or other visibility material.

YOUR PROFILE

Specific skills and experience:

  • Ability to support a communication strategy definition and build an implementation plan.
  • Creative ability and comfortable with design.
  • Skills in facilitation, presentation, and animation.
  • Flawless writing skills in French and English, native English speaker preferably.
  • Autonomous and proactive.
  • Ability to maintain and use a network of diverse partners.
  • Proof of two to three years’ experience in communication.
  • Work experience with a donor or INGO is a plus.
  • Knowledge and mastery of WordPress.
  • Mastering the basics of natural referencing of websites.
  • Knowledge and mastery of desktop publishing tools (Photoshop, Indesign, video editing…) is a plus.
  • Ability to select and manage communication service contractor.

HULO WILL OFFER YOU THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • Status: Integrated executive – Fixed term contract (12 months) – Full time.
  • Location: Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) + possibility to work remotely.
  • Salary conditions:
    • To be discussed, depending on experience.
    • 21 days of RTT.
    • Health and welfare cover: 80% paid by hulo.
  • Transport: 50% of the fixed price between home and work is covered.
  • Meal vouchers: 60% paid by hulo for a value of 8 Euros per day worked.
  • Specific conditions and aptitudes: sitting for long periods, oral expression, work on a screen, telephone contacts.
