JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Accounting Specialist – Fulltime
Reports To: Director of Finance
Department: Business Office
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position
Entry-level accounting assistant will support the activities of The Marine Corps Association, a non-profit membership organization with publishing, professional events, and retail, and its related charitable organization, the Marine Corps Association Foundation.

Essential Duties
- Receive/process daily receipts
- Prepare daily cash settlement and bank deposits
- Produce monthly invoicing for advertising customers and tenants
- Work with Events team to process sponsor invoicing
- Process monthly installment payments and follow-up collections
- Charitable Solicitation Registration
- Keep Foundation compliant by filing in a timely manner
- Research and update states throughout the year for changes made to State’s Charitable Solicitation requirements
- Request extension of time to file annual registration
- Track personal postage accounts and coordinate collection
- Prepare monthly aging reports, pursuing amounts due
- Maintain Petty Cash
- Business Office correspondence and filing
- Accounting/bookkeeping tasks as assigned
· Perform other administrative and financial operating tasks as required
Education/Experience/Skills
· Punctual arrival to work with pleasant outlook
· Developed analytical skills
· Attention to detail and accuracy
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Eager to take on new challenges
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office 365
