Accounting Manager

Summary

We are looking for an individual with accounting experience to join our amazing non-profit weatherization (Wx) team, working at our Derby HQ (possibility for occasional work in St. Johnsbury area). Tasks include a wide variety of general accounting, grant fund accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping and reporting associated with the administration of weatherization programs funded by federal, state, and local resources.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Recording, allocating, reviewing, and reconciling financial records
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Ensuring compliance with Wx financial program performance requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting AND one (1) year of relevant experience.

OR

• Associate degree in accounting or related field AND four (4) years of relevant professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of financial management principles and practices, including accounting and budgeting procedures.
• Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate financial information.
• Ability to identify and resolve accounting problems.
• Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations of grant awards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in use of accounting software, and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Knowledge of grant reporting requirements and/or experience working with non-profits preferred.
