Job Description
This position will be responsible for conceptualizing, specifying, designing, ordering, and programming automation equipment with a focus on robotics. Capable of high-level strategy and development of project plans, execution of capital projects and significant activities requiring a multi-functional team.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP
During The Internship, College Students Will
- Work on an individual project with your direct team
- Work with other interns on a group project
- Interact with leadership in the company, including VPs
- Network across functions and teams
- Participate in social and team building activities
Responsibilities
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Robot sizing, selection, simulation and programming
- Fully design equipment/tooling using 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
- Implement equipment cells into production environment
- Create complete specification and cost breakdown for projects
- Machine/robot vision including 2D and 3D inspection, guidance and line tracking
- Document equipment/tooling designs with appropriate bills of materials, cost analysis, and drawings
- Develop and manage project schedules for automation projects
- Establishes continuous improvement goals and executes action plans
- Develop engineering solutions to product related issues through problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
- Utilizes proven lean manufacturing abilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction, increased quality, workflow improvements, estimating, project analysis, technology development and core manufacturing skill set
- Work with Design Engineers to revise, and sustain HVAC product designs, utilizing knowledge of engineering principles; provide manufacturing technical resource to Design Project teams
- Participate on cross functional teams to launch product modifications, resolve issues, and product/tooling design reviewsCoordinate project work internally with the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget
- Develop suppliers for manufacturing equipment, develop key suppliers, create an environment of continuous improvement in equipment UPTIME, EFFICIENCY & QUALITY
- Create preventive maintenance plans that effectively maintains the equipment in optimal form without the need for short cutting the quality or machine capability
Knowledge And Skills
During the internship, college students will gain the below skills:
- Mechanical design experience
- Manufacturing experience
- Robot programming experience
- Skilled in 3D CAD design
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of manufacturing engineering theory, processes, and practice
- Strong communication skills to deliver the message to any level of the organization – with clarity required at each level
- Effective project management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams
