Position Summary

The Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of Providence House volunteerism and community engagement activities. This position reports to the Events & Partnerships Manager. The successful candidate possesses outstanding communication skills and excels at collaborative project management.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all individuals interested in volunteer opportunities. Responsible for managing a high number of telephone and email inquiries and ensuring each prospective volunteer is provided with the requested information.
  • Build relationships and facilitate partnerships with community-based organizations. Attend meeting events for those organizations (i.e., block clubs, table fairs, general community events).
  • Coordinate outreach, fundraising and speaking engagement requests, and determine appropriate internal resource to attend.
  • Participate in outreach efforts as a representative of the organization at conferences, meetings, speaking engagements, and external events, as assigned.
  • Support outreach and follow up for donation requests related to Providence House hosted events and fundraisers.
  • Recruit and oversee volunteers to assist with special events and other activities aligning with the agency’s opportunities for volunteer engagement.
  • Responsible for communication with volunteer network for full life cycle of engagement, from initial inquiry to designation of duties to conclusion and acknowledgement of engagement with PH.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee corporate, community, and individual opportunities for volunteering and engagement for done in a day, special events, community agency fairs, etc.
  • Strengthen commitment of current and past volunteers through relationship-building correspondence and activities.
  • Liaise with internal departments and committees to coordinate, monitor, secure, and direct the proper and safe use of facilities by special events volunteers and onsite volunteer groups.
  • Prepares reports regarding volunteer engagements and outreach outcomes on regular basis (monthly, quarterly, and/or as needed).
  • Responsible for staying up to date on current trends, resources, and information related to events, volunteerism, and community engagement.

Required Education And Experience

  • GED required.
  • College courses or advanced degree in Communications, Community Development or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of community relations, volunteer, and/or nonprofit experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the Greater Cleveland community for meetings and events as assigned.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary range is $35,000 – $45,000 commensurate with experience. Typical hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The position offers a hybrid work model with both remote and in-person options.
