The purpose of Planned Parenthood is to provide comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; and to advocate for public policies which guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and to provide educational programs which enhance understanding of individual and societal implications of human sexuality; to promote research and the advancement of technology in reproductive health care. As the access to the full suite of reproductive health care continues to be uncertain and we continue to define what abortion access looks like, ensuring we have our talent aligned with our strategy becomes even more important.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a Vice President of Talent Management and Development. This job reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer in the Human Resources Department of PPFA.

Purpose

  • The Vice President of Talent Management and Development will be responsible for developing the strategy to attract, retain and develop talent that will lead PPFA during this period of volatility, uncertainty and change as we continue to work in support of our mission.

Delivery

  • Develop the talent acquisition strategy for PPFA which may include the evaluation of and implementation of new technologies, approaches or methodologies.
  • Design and implement a best in class onboarding program for new hires.
  • Oversees the design and development of a learning program under the branding of PPFA University.
  • Keep the organization, with a specific focus on HR, on the credible emerging trends impacting PPFA’ ability to attract and retain talent
  • Define and promote the employee value proposition for PPFA.
  • Develop a talent management process that includes a bi-annual review of talent by the executive team with a focus on critical roles, related succession planning and assessing high potential talent.
  • Build tools and information sets that facilitate HR business partners’ capability to work with division leadership teams on their talent management plans
  • Ensures that talent outcomes are effectively analyzed, reported and actioned, in line with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Build and lead PPFA’s employment brand and recruiting marketing strategy, with the assistance of an expert Communications partner.
  • Serve as a “subject matter expert” on talent management practices, and business priorities.

Engagement

  • Work with the Chief Human Resources Officer to develop and drive the talent management and transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to develop talent action planning.
  • Work with senior leaders within the organization to calibrate talent on a regular basis.
  • Work with the Human Resources Leadership Team to develop an integrated plan for talent management.
  • Build trusting, strong and collaborative relationships with HR business partners, senior leaders, as well as staff at all levels across the organization to advance the critical priorities for the organization.
  • Partner with internal and external DEI partners to ensure equitable recruitment and talent strategy that aligns with business objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Advance degree in Organization Development or HR Management desired but will consider undergraduate degree with a minimum of 10 years experience with increasing scope of responsibility over their career.
  • Very comfortable in the use of qualitative and quantitative analysis in developing strategy.
  • Effectively manages conflict, relationships and change management.
  • Understands the organization and works appropriately within it whil establishing collaborative relationships and alliances.
  • Has an accurate picture of own strengths and weaknesses and is willing to improve.
  • Supports activities that position the organization for the future and offers novels ideas and perspectives for organizational growth.
  • Acts decisively to tackle difficult problems.
  • Effectively analyzes complex issues.
  • Strong commitment and alignment of values with those of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing or overlapping priorities.
  • Must be flexible, compassionate, and a good problem-solver.
  • Ability to separate personal opinion from key messages important to the organization.
  • Ability To drive results without disenfranchising stakeholders or beneficiaries, but at the same time not backing down from a challenge to what’s planned.

Travel

  • Less than 20%

Starting salary: $210K

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k. We also offer voluntary opt in for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Transportation/Commuter accounts.
