This is a Cycle Hire/Full Time position.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and effective Specialist (Cycle Hire) for the Black Campaigns team who will report to the Associate Director, Black Campaigns. The Specialist will support the strengthening, execution, and growth of PPFA and PPAF’s Black organizing program. They will also support the execution of our national Black electoral organizing strategy across the federation to win policy changes and build relationships across internal divisions and departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee a metrics-driven reporting system to track monthly progress with a focus on rigorous quality-control measures.
  • Co-manage, plan and execute the 2022 annual HBCU[1] summit and the F f all Black Organizing Program retreat.
  • Co-manage 2022 HBCU homecoming engagements in key electoral states.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall electoral strategy to engage Black communities, including HBCU mobilization in the 2022 mid term election.
  • Contribute to strategic plan development, training curriculum, and the development of outreach materials for the Black community, including electoral materials.
  • Support Black volunteer teams across the country through the Planned Parenthood organizing model.
  • Provide technical assistance to affiliates and HBCU student chapters, including planning and executing both national and regional issues.
  • Collaborate and develop partnerships with national office departments to cultivate relationships to ensure long-term engagement, resource building, and supporter growth among the Black community.

Requirements & Technical Expertise:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience working with communities of color concerning policy and/or electoral organizing, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong racial analysis and equity lens within the progressive movement and workplace
  • Knowledge of community and electoral organizing tactics, tools, and resources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and in teams including key partners
  • Metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting on progress
  • Computer literate, social media and technologically savvy

Personal Qualities/ Other Attributes:

  • Understanding of the issues facing Black communities when it comes to accessing health care and reproductive health access.
  • Strategic mindset with flexibility to quickly adjust tactics.
  • Strong knowledge of key reproductive health rights and justice issues.
  • Strong racial analysis and equity lens within the progressive movement and workplace.
  • Experience working with Historical Black Colleges and Universities, preferred, but not required.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and the ability to support staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills including an ability to resolve conflicts in a manner that respect relationships with colleagues and community partners
  • An adaptive leadership style, with the ability to problem-solve, navigate complex situations and relationships and take advantage of strategic opportunities
  • Commitment to coaching and developing highly skilled and talented local Public Affairs staff, as well as building the capacity and leadership of new organizers with compassion and care
  • Relationship-oriented, with the ability to develop authentic relationships built on trust and accountability

Minimum Salary: 60k

Final offers for this job will be based on capabilities and will be made within the parameters of the PPFA compensation program. Total offer package to include generous vacation + sick leave + paid holidays, individual/family provided medical, dental and vision benefits effective day 1, life insurance, short/long term disability, paid family leave and 401k.
