Veterinary Surgeon

IRIS | Networx | Recruitment Software & Services

About Us

PDSA is a special organisation that provides expert veterinary care for people across the UK who otherwise would not be able to afford to treat their pets. What we do really matters!

Our approach is unique as we combine pragmatism with a strong client care focus to deliver good clinical outcomes – we focus on measuring our impact rather than targets.

About You

We are looking for qualified vets who are up for a challenge and can adapt to the wide variety of cases seen at PDSA. Confidence in communicating with a wide range of colleagues and clients is essential as is a willingness to share your skills and lead by example.

Your passion will drive you to champion the charity, promote client contributions and always keep an eye on resources suggesting efficiencies wherever possible.

The work is fast-paced and challenging so we want you to have the work life balance that suits your needs as well as enabling us to deliver an outstanding service. Ask us about flexible options!

About The Hospital

Our hospital is a purpose built single site practice with digital x-ray, Ultrasound and much more great equipment to support diagnostics and continuing care of our Pet patients. We have a high and interesting case load, both medical and surgical. These include many different endocrinopathies, fracture repairs and more complicated soft tissue surgeries. We also do a high level of in house lab work. You will be supported by an experienced, knowledgeable team that is passionate about the value their work brings to our local community.

There is no out of hours working, Our Vets cover approximately 6 weekends per year at our ‘Sister site’ Bradford providing emergency treatment, this attracts an OOH uplift and stand down the following week. Work-life balance is very important to us at PDSA, so we are happy to explore flexible working or reduced hours to suit your specific needs.

We understand the importance of personal growth and are passionate about development. This means different things to different people so you will have regular line manager meetings to ensure your personal plan is tailor made. We want to support our employees on this journey, whether it be developing clinical skills, or working towards management goals.
