JOB SUMMARY
JOB PURPOSE:
The position holder will directly report to the Project Associate. The position will be based in Syria and responsible for the implementation of a mobile veterinary clinic for the project
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
With support from Project Associate, the veterinary project Associate will:
· Ensure coordination with the local council, local animal health department, and other Humanitarian actors present in Idleb.
· Identify and finalize livestock component beneficiaries. Ensure strong community mobilization throughout the project life.
· Closely interact with various stakeholders (beneficiaries, other veterinary service providers, pharmacies, and vets) to ensure better animal husbandry, management, and healthcare practices amongst beneficiaries.
· Ensure upholding the technical standards of quality and accountability including the guidelines of Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS), Core Humanitarian standards, and mainstreaming gender and protection.
· Leading field visits to livestock breeders within the activity of the mobile veterinary clinic to diagnose diseases and provide appropriate treatments.
· Conducting vaccinations for livestock
· Ensure the submission of weekly and monthly reports.
· Maintain a systematic filing system that would ensure the safekeeping of distribution and warehouse records.
· Collect and analyze relevant technical, social, economic, environmental, institutional, and technology-related information, data, and/or statistics to support the delivery of projects outcome, outputs, and activities.
· Provide the technical support to achieve good health for livestock
Personal Specification (Experience / Education/Skills- Essential):
· Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary.
· Minimum 1 year experience with NGOs
· Minimum 10 years of field experience in veterinary treatment.
· Understanding – and ideally prior experience – of livelihood concepts and programming.
· Good understanding of project cycle management, including developing implementation plans.
Language
Arabic (written and spoken) is a must. English will be an additional benefit.
IT skills
· Very Good computer skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office and Kobo toolboxapplication
