UX Designer / Business Analyst

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer. Joining the growing digital function within the SBTi’s global operations team, you will collaborate closely with other teams to ensure that the SBTi technology infrastructure is well supported and service excellence is at the core of the organization.

About you

You have strong communication and facilitation skills and enjoy designing, documenting, and visualizing complex user experience workflows. You are highly structured and approach work in a strategic way in order to design workflows that are seamless across each customer’s journey. You are comfortable designing experiments to better understand user needs and pain points. You are comfortable working with external consultants and specialists and seek to find effective ways to partner to ensure your work is fully realized. You have a deep satisfaction with what you create and are motivated by the level of clarity and insights to meet the needs of the business. English is the working language at SBTi and ability to communicate at a business fluent level is needed.

Key responsibilities

• Work with teams across the SBTi, including technical, communication, and corporate engagement teams, to support the development and roll-out of digital solutions and products supporting the business strategy, including: Web, CRM, custom target submission app, and the target monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) dashboard;
• Generate user insight, analyze user journeys, map business processes and effectively document this information so that it can both be used by decision makers and technical specialists alike;
• Use insights from colleagues, users, networks and the wider market/landscape to identify ongoing opportunities to improve business performance and increase user satisfaction through digital innovations;
• Develop, in collaboration with Data & Tech team, user adoption strategies, documentation, workshops etc. to ensure digital solutions are being used in the best way possible;
• Work with teams to continuously improve the features and use of current tech stack;
• Work within the organization to bring new ideas to the Data & Technology team to help prioritize work with the highest impact;

Essential skills and experience

• Experience mapping user journeys, business processes (BPMN), wireframing, prototyping and other visual aides to ensure both a common understanding as well as communicating key details during the design process;
• Understanding of user research techniques to ensure user expectations are well understood and implemented in new digital solutions;
• Great facilitation, collaboration, and empathy skills, must be comfortable leading groups through challenging exercises to ensure Digital solutions are designed to be fit for purpose;
• Comfort with data / technical architecture to ensure the design is both relevant to the user as well as the back end, data, software, or other technical features / limitations;
• Ability to work remotely and flexibly in a global environment with limited direct supervision;
• Familiarity with agile values and how to leverage agile to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure, experience using Asana a plus;
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and advanced English level for non native speakers;
