UN Donor Partnerships Lead

Save the Children

The Opportunity

Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the UN Donor Partnerships Lead London or at specific existing Save the Children International office location.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Save the Children has agreed an ambitious new global strategy for 2022-24, and has developed an accompanying Global Funding Framework to inform and shift how Save the Children can work together as a movement to drive greater funding impact for children. By 2024 our ambition is for Save the Children to be a +$3bn organisation, with institutional funding constituting more than 60% and, of which, humanitarian emergency response remains the largest focus of that funding.

In line with a number of complementary strategic shifts, responsibility for oversight and management of Save the Children’s relationship with two key humanitarian partners – the World Food Programme (WFP) and the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) – is transitioning to Save the Children International. Similarly, responsibility for business development, compliance and award management will sit within the SCI structure.

This new role will oversee our overall partnership and funding relationship with these key UN agencies. It will be responsible for driving forward our related partnership strategies, working with teams across the global organisation and with external networks to represent the global breadth and depth of our work. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring our work with WFP and UNHCR is both sustainable and affordable, and will influence a global network of internal and external stakeholders to optimise our engagement throughout our policy and advocacy, technical and programming work.

The role will be part of the Save the Children International’s (SCI) Programme Funding and Institutional Partnerships (PFIP) team and will work extensively with colleagues at centre, regional and country level responsible for securing and delivering SCI’s WFP and UNHCR programme of work. The role will actively collaborate with other members across the Save the Children Association (SCA) as relevant and for WFP opportunities specifically, will ensure active collaboration with SCUS’ Commodities Operations Unit. The role will work closely with the Global Head of Institutional Humanitarian Funding and with colleagues across SCI’s Humanitarian Team and in relevant advocacy offices on global strategic priorities.

The post-holder will also work closely with colleagues from across the movement (and specifically with other UN account leads) as part of a broader community of institutional partnership managers; ensuring best practice and learning is prioritised and proactively shared.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
