Salary range: $4,100-$4,900 USD/month

The Role

The people affected by conflict in Ukraine find their situation compounded by a crisis of communication and technology. Vulnerable groups in particular face challenges – older people may not be tech-savvy, while marginalized groups may speak different languages, or require different forms and channels of communication. These groups may struggle to access life-saving information and to have the ability to share their needs and challenges. CLEAR Global is committed to providing practical solutions to inform more effective two-way communication between those affected by the crisis and those aiming to support them. Providing training to response actors in such areas as humanitarian interpreting, accountability to affected populations (AAP), and communicating with communities (CWC) is a key part of our strategy.

The Training Coordinator – Ukraine Response, will oversee all training components of CLEAR Global’s Ukraine response strategy across Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Moldova; this will include maintaining a team or roster of trainers on staff/on demand; liaising with response actors on training needs; and ensuring high-quality delivery of training packages. The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting trainers in each country in the creation, adaptation, implementation and evaluation of CLEAR Global’s training packages. The Training Coordinator will also be the focal point for training with all partners, including INGOs and local NGOs, governments and the UN.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, maintain and manage a team or roster of high-quality training providers in each country
  • Support trainers in creation, adaptation, delivery and evaluation of various training packages
  • Liaise with NGOs, both national and international, the UN, government authorities, and conflict-affected populations to inform training needs and priorities
  • Ensure high quality training delivery – monitoring trainers, reviewing evaluations and feedback, ensuring training stays relevant to the context
  • With support from admin officer and other colleagues, ensure on time, on budget, smooth delivery of trainings
  • Arrange systems within response coordination mechanisms and partner agencies for scheduling training and identifying training participants, according to demand, budget, timeframe and logistical support
  • Collaborate internally with CLEAR Global experts to develop training based on identified needs, such as plain language editing, active listening, accountability to affected populations, etc, in addition to existing modules like humanitarian interpretation

Qualifications

The Training Coordinator should be a creative self-starter with a strong sense of initiative, experienced in conducting or overseeing training in a humanitarian context on relevant topics, and enthusiastic about the importance of increasing access to knowledge through language. The right candidate is an energetic team player who agrees with CLEAR Global’s basic beliefs and values and who can work virtually with team members based throughout the world.

Requirements

  • Relevant university degree – education, international relations, or similar
  • 4+ years of training delivery and/or oversight in humanitarian or development contexts, or other directly related roles
  • Experience developing training modules and facilitator guides
  • Understanding of the principles of Accountability to Affected People / Communicating with Communities
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian, Romanian or Polish a plus
  • Language technology, interpreting or translation experience a plus
