Who We Are

Girl Effect is an international non-profit that builds media that girls want, trust and need. From chatbots to chat shows, TV dramas to tech, our content helps adolescent girls in Africa and Asia make choices and changes in their lives. Because when a girl unlocks her power to make different choices that change her life, it inspires others to do so too. She starts a ripple effect that impacts her family, community, and country.

That’s the Girl Effect.

Girl Effect uses a branded media approach towards delivering behavioural change messaging.

We reach girls across the world, where they are -online and offline, to support them at the critical moments in life when choices around their health, education and economic future need to be made.

We use our expertise in behaviour change science to motivate and equip girls with information and support to help them see a different future for themselves, act on those choices, and drive greater demand for the opportunities and services available to them.

Chhaa Jaa in India, Tujibebe in Tanzania, Yegna in Ethiopia, – these are some of our youth brands. They exist across multiple channels – digital ( Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, Whatsapp), TV, radio, print and offline. Together, these brands reach 50m peoplein 20 countries in Africa and Asia.

Our Creative Partnerships Coordinator sits within the Global Create team and supports the Creative Partnerships lead in Girl Effect geographies by owning and expanding Girl Effect’s ‘black book’ of external creative contacts.

Scope Summary

Girl Effect is looking for a Creative Partnerships Coordinator to help with research, outreach, and expanding our network of creative professionals in all our Geos.

Responsibilities include:

Creative resourcing and networking:

  • Expand our existing black book to boost contacts in Girl Effect geographies, including brand and creative strategists, art directors and graphic designers, UX and UI designers, photographers and videographers, illustrators, animators and copywriters.
  • Scope out established and emerging talent in Girl Effect geographies, freelancers, and Agencies.
  • Oversee and execute all data collection activities to ensure timely documents are kept up to date and filed correctly.
  • Drive the day-to-day execution of the Talent Roster project according to project plans. Lead internal coordination efforts for the team.
  • Identify creative resource gaps and proactively plan for these at both a global and local level.
  • Support the building of a ‘global network’ of creatives, encouraging connections and collaborations where possible. Make recommendations around bringing people together and fostering community and contribution.
  • Support the Creative Partnerships Lead with the management and resourcing of the in-house Create team
  • Stay abreast of global creative industry trends and talents
  • Fluent in English

Expected Deliverables

The consultant will provide deliverables as per the scope of work; this will include:

  • Update existing creative black book
  • Vendor prequalification reports complying with our policy requirements.
  • Reports on vendor due diligence and registration of new creative consultants.
  • Reviewed terms of references/solicitation documents and proposal evaluation reports.
  • Reports on any other assignment carried out.

Reporting

The consultant will report to the Global Creative Partnerships Lead.

Location

The consultant will be remote and must be conducive to working with teams in the UK, USA, Brazil, Sub-Saharan Africa & India.

Expected Commitment

  • The assignment is expected to take approximately six months to complete.
  • The consultant will be expected to spend up to 40 hours each week with the platforms and liaison with the create team and other stakeholders.
  • The consultant’s assignment period is from 1st February 2023 to 1st July 2023.

Who You Are:

Skills and expertise:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as solid communication skills to work collaboratively with a global team
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking ability
  • Required Skills: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • Passion for research, here it would be researching creative agencies and creative individuals
  • Experience working on multi-country campaigns and campaign localisation would be a massive bonus.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the life of young women and girls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years of work experience in secondary or primary research or creative project management experience at a media owner/publisher or creative agency
  • Project research experience within either a Creative Agency or a technology or research organisation with proven success in project managing complex, multi-geography projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity about the cultures within which Girl Effect operates
  • Experience working remotely with colleagues and/or field agencies and the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams with varying expertise, skills and backgrounds
  • Creative and inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to communicate and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, consultants, vendors and clients
  • Commitment to realizing the potential of girls and to the vision and values of Girl Effect
  • Fluent English speaker

In their technical proposal, the bidder must demonstrate an understanding of the requirements described in the RFP and demonstrate how the bidder will meet the requirements of the evaluation criteria.

Technical and Financial proposals will need to be submitted as separate documents. Financial bids will not be opened until the technical evaluation and then only for those proposals deemed qualified and responsive.

VALIDITY of the proposal shall be for 90 days from the date of bid closure.

Evaluation Criteria

The criteria against which proposals will be evaluated are listed below.

Technical Evaluation

  • Interpretation and understanding of this TOR – 10%
  • Share samples of your work, articles for similar organizations or work that has been published – 10%
  • Showcases relevant experience in having done previous similar work with relevant agencies or organizations – 15 %
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the multiple geographies that we operate in 10%
  • Evidence of a minimum of three contactable references – 10%
  • Experience and Qualification, share your CV- 15 %

Financial Evaluation

  • Value for money/proposed budget breakdown – 30%
