Technical Worker (For Philippines Nationals Only)

The Technical Worker performs simple technical tasks that require minimum qualifications or relevant experience, under supervision. He/She oversees Premises basic maintenance, minor repairs and concerns that needs immediate remedy. The technical worker also supports the Finance and Administration (FAD) Manager in the monitoring of premises equipment and supplies. Acts as the reliever/replacement of the housekeepers, when needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides basic maintenance on ICRC equipment and repair works in areas such as electricity, plumbing, carpentry, etc. in all ICRC premises.
  • Maintains the lawns of ICRC premises compounds including gardening and cutting of grasses.
  • Ensures maintenance of premises generators, weekly check-up/start-up, refueling, cleaning, recording to logbook, and emergency malfunctions.
  • Orders or purchases any premises material, in coordination with premises assistant and/or logistics staff.
  • Implements change of office organization and assists in relocation of office furniture / equipment, etc.
  • Guides and assists external maintenance company working within ICRC premises.

  • Participates in the inventory and conducts regular checks on equipment to ensure all items are in good condition.
  • Alerts his supervisor immediately on any issues that could have negative consequences or represent a risk (Technical malfunctions, accidents) and attends to them in a timely manner.
  • Supports Premises Maintenance officer on the electrical safety preventive monthly/quarterly maintenance routine.
  • Practices and ensures a safe and healthy working technique, follows all security measures such as wearing protective gears when working.

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Completed secondary education / with high school diploma or vocational technical course is an advantage.
  • Basic technical skills (repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge in written and spoken English and Filipino
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain high level of performance.
  • Proven experience as technical worker
  • Prior experience in an international humanitarian organization is an advantage.
