Chemonics

Chemonics International, an international development consulting firm based in Washington DC, is seeking qualified candidates for an anticipated project on Strengthening Regional Peace and Stability in West Africa, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). We are seeking mid- and senior-level experts (short-term and long-term) in the fields listed below. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Chemonics is looking for candidates with expertise in the following technical areas: **

· Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism **

· Citizen Security

· Rule of Law and Government Accountability **

· Gender, Youth, and Child Protection **

· Social and Behavior Change **

· Community Mobilization

· Community Resilience and Economic Growth

· Environmental Justice **

· Peacebuilding **

· Conflict resolution and Mitigation

· Capacity building of Civil Society Organizations **

· Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for donor funded and/or stability activities

· International law, political science, international development, or related fields. **

General Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree or higher in an appropriate field

· At least 5 years of appropriate experience

· Proven experience in one of the above-mentioned technical fields

· Experience with donor funded activities or international organizations, and preferably with USAID

· Previous experience working in sub-Saharan Africa countries experiencing conflict, instability, or political transition. Experience in West Africa preferred

· Experience in project management is an added asset

· Solid oral and written communication in English, Fluent French is desirable; fluency in a local language is an additional asset

· Availability to travel to rural areas, security conditions permitting

· The desire to work with an international team in a dynamic environment
