Job Duties

What You Can Expect Day-to-Day

Responsibilities

Planning and performing all training and technical support for North America on our poultry and swine solutions, you’ll report to the Technical Services Manager and own the following core job responsibilities

Manage the technical team and sales services

Core Responsibility

  • Visits to distributors and field customers to provide support to sales and distribution teams
  • Works as part of the team to when product performance and complaints arise by clarifying customers concerns, determining the cause of the problem, selecting, and explaining the best solution to solve the problem.
  • Implements and provide pertinent technical training on issues and solutions to our teams and distributors while following the resulting improvements
  • Shares sales information to support both technical and sales team
  • Participates in trade shows, conferences, and other business development activities to meet strategic objectives (identifies relevant information collected) and promote our technical solutions (2nd line arsenal)

Market intelligence and ASC (Applied Scientific Curiosity)

  • Researches opportunities and strategic market development trends
  • Gathers information from the field (customers) and market trends to offer ideas for the development of new products
  • Collaborates with the ASC department to develop new research and product development projects
  • Standardizes new test protocols with ASC and field consultants
  • Supervises and centralizes field trials for products
  • Creates, maintains, and optimizes strategic relationships with the various partners of the company (customers, suppliers, and others)

Marketing

  • Centralizes and analyzes competitive products (positioning, strengths, weaknesses, and substitution) to ensure top positioning of Jefo products, with the support of the Product Management team
  • Provides technical content for marketing materials and or to serve as a sounding board for an idea.
  • Defines and centralizes the positioning, sales tools, and solutions and approval by management
  • Supports the marketing team in developing marketing tools for technical accuracy and launching new solutions.
  • Writes and updates marketing literature (PowerPoint presentations, research reports or field trials, and others) in collaboration with the Director of Technical Sales Service (Field Trials), ASC (Research Reports), and the Marketing team.

Qualifications

What it Takes

We are looking for a skilled and professional Technical Service Specialist who wants to grow with us.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree (Sc., Ph.D. or DVM)
  • A genuine passion for training and technically supporting various departments
  • Knowledge of nutrition and animal physiology (poultry and swine)
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Open to a flexible schedule
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, ability to manage time and budgets
  • Quality and accuracy of documentation
  • Superb interpersonal skills and ability to respect existing procedures
  • Ability to conduct research and create reports or presentations
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work autonomously with little supervision
  • Preferred

    • Farm and animal feed industry experience – extensive animal production experience
    • Ration Formulation
    • Bilingual (knowledge of French or Spanish) is a great asset.
