PSI/Somalia has worked to measurably improve the health of Somali women and children since 2007, addressing the most serious health challenges that affect resource poor and vulnerable Somali communities.

PSI seeks an experienced, dynamic, and innovation-driven Technical Manager to lead PSI’s technical work related to the Damal Caafimaad Component 1: Delivery of Somalia’s Essential Package of Health Services in Nugaal, Puntland.

Responsibilities

Your contributions

  • Lead PSI’s technical work related to the Damal Caafimaad Component 1: Delivery of Somalia’s Essential Package of Health Services in Nugaal, Puntland
  • Establish and implement systems for technical supervision, management, and quality improvement
  • Ensure essential health services are being implemented to technical guidelines
  • Ensure all MoH policies and procedures are implemented
  • Oversee training of health professionals
  • Oversee efforts to improve health service coverage and utilization including community engagement

What are we looking for?

  • Advanced degree in public health, medicine, or nursing
  • A minimum of ten-years full time experience of managing health service delivery projects, preferably in fragile contexts
  • Demonstrated experience in health service quality improvement
  • Demonstrated experience improving health service coverage and utilization in fragile contexts
  • Experience with tools and systems to improve health service delivery and quality
  • Demonstrated experience managing health service provider training
  • Training in project management, planning, M&E and report writing
  • Training in RH, EPI, TB, Nutrition, IMCI and HMIS
  • Willingness to travel to a remote/rural areas
  • Substantial experience working with Governments and partners in fragile contexts.
  • Experience with Somalia’s Government at the Federal and State levels is preferable
  • Substantial experience with capacity development, preferably in the health sector
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Strong diplomacy skills
  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to synthesize complex information for use across different audiences in both written and oral form
  • Qualified Somali national/ Somali Diaspora preferred
