Tableau Dashboard Consultant: USAID/Haiti Evaluation and Survey Services Plus (ESS+) Project

Project Objectives:
In August 2022, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded International Business Initiatives Corp. (IBI) and SI the Evaluation Survey Services Plus (ESS+) contract to support USAID/Haiti and its partners with evaluations, survey and study support, capacity building and learning events, and in-country Third Party Monitoring (TPM).
Under the ESS+ capacity building component, USAID requests to build an interactive Mission wide dashboard using Tableau and conduct training for USAID Mission staff on using the dashboard.
Position Description:
Haiti ESS+ is seeking one expert in Tableau to be responsible for designing and building the Haiti Mission dashboard and conducting the users training. S/he is expected to be experienced constructing dashboard using tableau and in training/ facilitating dashboard use.
The consultant will liaise with the USAID Haiti Mission to acquire the specifications required to make the dashboard. The Dashboard would be interfacing with the Mission GIS platform and Development Information System (DIS) platform, and useful for tracking indicators and all activities in the Mission Portfolio. The following week, the Tableau expert will train USAID staff on how to use the dashboard.
The training will be conducted using state of art technologies and sound communication methods including adult learning principles to allow smooth learning of dashboard use using Tableau. Specifically, the trainer will have to complete the following:
- Hold consultation sessions with USAID Haiti to understand their needs
- Design and build an interactive USAID/Haiti Mission wide dashboard using tableau interfacing with the Mission GIS and DIS platforms
- Elaborate a coherent one weeks’ training schedule and develop training materials with regard to the objectives above mentioned. To allow Mission staff handle other tasks and responsibilities, daily sessions should not exceed 3 hours.
- Conduct the training, including hands on exercise with regard to dashboard use
In terms of deliverables, the consultant will provide the USAID/Haiti mission with a mission dashboard, a training schedule and training materials outlining all the themes to be covered and the exercises to be conducted during the training and provide a training report after the training.
The objective of the consultancy is to:
– Liaise with USAID for specifications regarding the Mission needs of a dashboard
– Design and create an USAID/Haiti Mission dashboard
– Allow the USAID Haiti Mission staff to become proficient with the use of the dashboard
– Provide hands on trainings allowing USAID Haiti Mission staffs to be competent in generating interactive outputs using tableau.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Acquire all relevant information to build the USAID/Haiti mission dashboard
- Build the interactive dashboard using tableau, displaying state-of-the-art and user-friendly features
- Conduct the training in a respectful and transparent manner, ensuring the achievement of the above-mentioned deliverables
- Provide sound schedule and materials for the training
- Ensure the highest level of reliability and validity of the information being transmitted.
- Lead and coordinate all information delivery and hands-on training;
- Take ultimate responsibility for writing all materials associated with the training
- Manage all deadlines for materials and training
- Assist Haiti ESS+ in maintaining good working relationships with USAID
- Collaborate with the IBI headquarters and Haiti ESS+ staff with strategic and operational planning to implement the training.
- Administer a pre and post-training evaluation
- Provide a training report
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information system, computer engineering or related major.
- Advanced level of Tableau with a minimum of 3 years of experience using Tableau and designing dashboards
- Strong writing and oral presentation skills.
- Must be fluent in English; fluency in French and Creole will be an asset
- Familiarity with GIS Platform and USAID DIS platform is desired
- Familiarity with USAID policies and practices including evaluation policy, results frameworks, and performance monitoring plans
