Summer Student, Pipeline Integrity

We are actively seeking a Summer Student to join our Asset Integrity team at our Macklin, Saskatchewan office. Reporting to the Team Lead, Pipeline Integrity, the successful candidate will have a passion for learning and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and take on new challenges. This position will be a 4-month term commencing May 2023.

Essential Functions:

  • Designing pipeline identification signs to match pipeline risers at well and other lease sites.
  • Coordinate purchasing and installing pipeline identification signs.
  • Track and report progress on pipeline identification sign work.

Assist the area Pipeline Integrity Advisor with various task including:

  • Licensing legacy flowlines with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources.
  • Validating pipeline risk assessment scores.
  • Pipeline failure investigations and repairs.
  • Addressing actions from pipeline field integrity meetings.
  • Developing new pipeline maps.
  • Compiling and organizing field pipeline data.
  • Field inspection activities.

Qualifications Include:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft applications.
  • Detail orientated.

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a technical post-secondary education program.
  • Experience with heavy oil field operations, including pipelines is an asset.

Other Details:

  • Available to begin work in May 2023.
  • Work schedule: 40 hours per week.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, a drivers abstract will be required upon being hired.
