Your primary focus as an intern will be to support talent management, organizational development and learning initiatives that the HR function delivers for the Business.

As a Summer Intern at Western Asset, you will participate in a ten-week internship program designed to provide valuable career experience for students who wish to apply their education and skills within the Human Resources (HR) function. This is an immersive program that mirrors the responsibilities of an early career position within the Firm. You will receive on-the-job training as well as a technical and business-oriented education. As a summer intern at Western Asset, you will be performed real work that contributes significantly to the success of the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in learning projects including conducting research, providing trends and/or leveraging technology tools to gain insight into unconscious bias training
  • Support the deployment of change management to help drive various org-wide initiatives
  • Connect with various stakeholders to collate information
  • Be an active part of the HR Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) Task Team that supports all facets of DEI projects for the business
  • Provide quantitative or qualitative data analysis and reporting support to areas of HR, particularly in the development of learning strategy
  • Help support data migration processes in existing HR systems (may include payroll, recruiting, performance management, compensation)
  • Participate in the roll out of new employee on-boarding programs

What You Will Bring

  • You are in the process of completing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a related program with a focus in human resources, organizational psychology, data analysis or business systems
  • Proven record of academic excellence and achievement
  • You are passionate about career opportunities available to you within the human resources field, with a desire to learn about and participate in a financial services environment
