FUNCTION:

The Business Resource Network or “BRN” is a private-public partnership whose purpose is to assist local businesses with the retention of employees through the provision of support activities to remove barriers to their continued employment. The Success Coach will be working with individual employees on a one-on-one basis and is responsible for helping them to identify their barriers and work with them to find a resolution to them. 

DUTIES:

  1. Outreach to companies that are having employee retention problems;
  2. Recruitment of companies to become a member of the BRN;
  3. Maintain a regular schedule engagement with BRN member companies. This schedule may be one segment (3 – 4 hours) or multiple segments. Vary schedule to accommodate coverage of all shifts;
  4. Assess the needs of employees to determine if they need barrier resolution to continue employment;
  5. Schedule appointments with BRN member company employees to resolve employment issues;
  6. Determine necessary solutions to resolve employment issues;
  7. Provide continued case management to confirm success of solutions for sustained employment;
  8. Maintain case management files documenting services provided to employees.
  9. Keep current files of social services available to employees of BRN member employers and provide information on how to obtain services.
  10. Arrange services with providers as required by case notes and plans.
  11. Assist BRN employees in completing written applications for social services when needed.
  12. Provide emergency assistance and crisis intervention to employees when necessary.
  13. Produce reports and updates to Lead Success Coach monthly.
  14. Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve the process, decrease turnaround times, streamline work methods, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide value-added customer service to employees.
  15. Maintain and manage regular contact with Community Resource Navigator / Retention Services Manager to ensure quality/coordinated information dissemination to BRN employees and GSTMW customers.
  16. Establish, nurture and maintain appropriate linkages to internal and external employee resources.
  17. Responsible for relating and interacting with the public and co-workers in a positive way that results in mutual cooperation and respect.
  18. Maintain all information as confidential with employees.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Career Counseling, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred, however experience within the field will be considered in lieu of a degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in human or community service. Preference in consideration given to those with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in human services or social work.
  • The position requires the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with staff, employees, management, referral sources, public, etc.
  • Must be able to analyze problems and devise effective solutions.
  • Strong business and professional interpersonal skills are necessary to work with businesses and employees.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with local community resources.
  • The ideal candidate should enjoy working with people.
