Job Title: Chief Executive Officer, 360 Youth Services

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Mike Bertrand, President and CEO

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CEO will provide leadership to the 360 Youth Services staff and ensure program efficacy, strategic and organic growth, financials, compliance, etc. and serve as the public face for 360 Youth Services in the community and with key stakeholders. With a staff of 50 including 5 direct reports, the CEO will lead with confidence, integrity, compassion, strong communication skills, and critical thinking.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performance will be benchmarked and evaluated by documented progress in the following categories:

VISIONARY LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY:

• Develop and deploy an agency-wide strategic plan in collaboration with the staff, Board, and community partners. The plan will be agency-wide, addressing our full suite of services.

• Carry out organizational initiatives, anticipating community needs for youth services and fostering a climate of innovation and outcome-based approaches.

• Provide leadership to 360 Youth Services’ operations and program staff. Ensure a positive workplace culture and a productive agency organization.

• Explore opportunities for collaboration, mergers, and partnerships with community and/or national organizations.

• Continue to elevate the profile and work of 360 Youth Services on a local, regional, and state level, creating high-level strategy and vision.

• Serve as a community leader and develop meaningful relationships with other organizations and entities whose mission intersects with that of 360 Youth Services to achieve a collective impact.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

• Create and maintain productive relationships at the community, city, state, and national levels to ensure 360 Youth Services is a well-supported and well-funded youth services organization. Establish oneself as a leader and subject matter expert.

• Act as the public face of 360 Youth Services to the external community in an articulate, passionate and visible manner, articulating the needs of the organization.

• Develop and deploy a strong public brand and image campaign for the agency.

• Maintain active membership and a strong presence in professional organizations, community groups, and other spaces relevant to the work of 360 Youth Services and its mission.

ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF MANAGEMENT:

• Developing and enabling the staff’s capabilities. Leading them to strive for higher productivity and greater collaboration. Helping them develop their strengths and identify and assist with opportunities for growth.

• Assigning outcome-based goals into the organization to create accountability and ownership. Regularly reviewing their progress – adjusting the plans as necessary to enable success.

• In collaboration with the Finance director, establish the operating budget and ensure that the organization operates with fiscal responsibility. Ensure all financials are properly reported and monitored.

• Maintain compliance to all grant and funder requirements.

• Expand opportunities for engaging community volunteer individuals and organizations.

BOARD RELATIONS:

·        Facilitate the Community Board and its advisory capacity

Ensures execution. Creates a structure to deliver organization-wide results to achieve objectives. Develops and implements stewardship strategies. Determines benchmarks and ensures appropriate leadership to meet objectives.

4. Personal Growth: Facilitates change; models adaptability and an awareness of the impact of change. Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in leadership and management, with documented ability to manage staff and lead teams.

• Master’s degree in a related field (Behavioral Health Care, Social Work, etc.) required.

• Experience in building revenue and increasing philanthropic support.

• A demonstrated track record of promoting diversity and an ability to build collaboration with the community at large.

• Proven ability to build strong external relationships with community leadership, school

personnel, public officials, partner organizations and other stakeholders.

• Track record in analyzing and understanding P&L statements, financial strategy, stewardship, and developing strategies.

• Proven success in maintaining strong and productive work teams with a focus on mentoring and nurturing staff development.

• Strong strategic and critical thinking skills with the demonstrated ability to develop, deploy, and monitor the success of operational and growth strategies.

• Background in youth service programs strongly preferred.
