Mobile Info Team is determined to work towards a future where asylum seekers and refugees in Greece have fair access to asylum and are treated with the respect their humanity deserves. We assist families and individual asylum seekers and refugees throughout Greece by providing one on one support through our digital hotlines and provide long term case support for various asylum and family reunification cases. We research legal and political developments relevant to migrants in Greece and Europe and disseminate information through our digital hotlines and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/mobileinfoteam). We carry out advocacy aimed at ensuring fair and efficient access to asylum in Greece and work as part of the Border Violence Monitoring Network advocating against push backs and border violence.

This key role within MIT is an excellent opportunity to help grow a well established grassroots organization that has been providing support in (Northern) Greece for over 5 years. You will contribute to setting the organization’s financial and strategic objectives and directing its further professionalization and growth.

What we need: A proactive, enthusiastic, strategic supporter of social justice that has experience in programme/project management, fundraising and (financial) administration, ideally in the humanitarian aid sector in Greece. An excellent relationship builder, engaging communicator, accurate reporter and self organised individual.

Duties & responsibilities:

Strategic development:

  • Formulate medium to long term strategic objectives and monitor progress
  • Lead the research, planning and execution of all projects aimed at strategic growth and change
  • Cooperate with coordination team to ensure strategic plans match operational objectives
  • Drive programme development in line with the changing context and strategic objectives
  • Complete risk assessments on the project

Fundraising:

  • Research and identify new potential donors and funding opportunities
  • Lead the writing and submission of grant applications for new and existing donors
  • Research, collect data and and write reports to donors and partners according to their requirements and timelines
  • Actively maintain and build relationships with potential and existing donors

Reporting and (financial) administration:

  • Budgeting and forecasting all costs of the project
  • Maintain compliance with external regulations and internal policies
  • Collect and analyse relevant data for internal and external reporting
  • Administration of all finances including rent payments, utilities, expenses and stipends
  • Contribute to the writing of the quarterly and annual reports in cooperation with the Director

Profile:

  • At least 1 year of experience in organisational development, project management, or coordination within humanitarian aid projects is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in fundraising and grant applications
  • Strong interest and affinity with humanitarian/NGO service delivery in the Greek refugee context and legal framework
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a very good command of English
  • Ability to design and implement proposals and reports in a clear and structured manner
  • Strong independent work ethic that can drive completion of long term projects
  • Adept at working in variable context, comfortable with unpredictability and change
  • Experience with stakeholder management at senior level with strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of registration of NGOs and employment / labor requirements is a plus
  • Knowledge of Greek language is considered an asset
  • Willing to relocate to Thessaloniki, Greece
  • Committed to helping people realize their human right to asylum
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU

Commitment: To maintain organisational stability, we are looking for a commitment of 6 months+ starting as soon as possible but no later than January 2023. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit to longer.
