Immediate need for an experienced Staff Accountant to join the growing corporate headquarters of an industry leader and publicly traded company conveniently located near 75 and 285 in Atlanta. Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform various month-end close activities
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
  • Perform expense account reviews and analysis
  • Day-to-day accounting tasks, including the maintenance and observance of transactions and the sub-ledger/general ledger
  • Perform basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
  • Respond appropriately to vendor and internal requests
  • Process checks, deposits, and bank statements
  • Run and distribute financial reports
  • Consolidate various accounting practices and provide data in a format consistent with audit standards
  • Support annual and recurring audits and related requests
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes for improvement opportunities

Position Requirements

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Minimum 2 years of general accounting experience
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Ability to apply a broad range of accounting principles, practices, and procedures in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
  • Experience with databases, financial reports, and accounting software
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Courteous, professional manner and strong customer service skills
  • Willingness to comply with all company, local, state, and federal financial regulations
  • Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information
