Staff Accountant

Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a Staff Accountant on an immediate, full-time, hybrid, temp-to-hire basis!

Our client is a reputable multinational consumer goods/retail organization located in New York City, NY 10119.

This is a hybrid role, with 3 days on-site and 2 days work from home. Hours are from Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm.

This role is perfect for self-starters, independent, degreed Staff Accountants with at least 2-3 years of full-cycle general ledger experience.

Salary: $50,000 – $70,000/yr plus 10% bonus + health insurance + 401k

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information.
• Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data.
• Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
• Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts.
• Prepares payments by accruing expenses.
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelors in Accounting
• Prior experience w/ any accounting software; AP/AR, bank reconciliations, accruals, month/end experience
• Must be STRONG in accounting. Lots of manual entries
• Must be able to work independently and self-motivated
