Summary

The Sr Tech Business Operations Manager is responsible for supporting diverse business operations functions to support the Tech organization in the areas of internal communications, change management, executive office of the CIO support or other essential business operations responsibilities. This role is responsible for leading and managing work, projects and programs that have a broad impact to the business, working with autonomy and discretion. The Sr Tech Business Operations Manager is also responsible for contributing to the creation and execution of best-in-class business support practices to elevate the reputation of the department, help effectively utilize resources, and support an improved employee experience for our Tech employees. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, assisting with strategy development, planning, and execution of deliverables. The Sr Tech Business Operations Manager’s assigned projects are related to planning and executing organizational change plans for Tech initiatives, creating compelling communications and messaging, and independently managing a portfolio of work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with BECU Competencies, compliance, regulatory and Information Protection requirements.
  • Responsible for managing projects and/or programs demonstrating sound business judgment.
  • Collaborate with teams within Tech to build strong working relationships and support Tech teams in creating communication plans, editing communications, and making recommendations for how to effectively communicate highly technical content to non-technical audiences.
  • Create, produce and execute organizational change management and engagement plans that demonstrate understanding of audience needs and elevate the reputation of the Tech organization.
  • Build and maintain relationships with communicators, change managers and other key business contracts from across the credit union to understand the needs of our business partners, share best practices and implement new and better ways of implementing technical change at BECU.
  • Engage with project and product teams to oversee the organizational change management aspects of technical deployments within BECU.
  • Initiate business process improvements that support the Tech organization and help the Tech Business Operations team meet our goals and objectives.
  • Develop and lead special projects to fulfill the objectives of department planning and goals.
  • Mentor Tech Business Operations teammates in the areas of change management, business process development and communication effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, communication or related field, or equivalent work or educational experience required.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in corporate/internal communications, organizational change management, project management, or related field required.
  • Change Management and Project Management certifications preferred.
  • Experience with effectively communicating technical change to a non-technical audience preferred.
  • Experience developing executive level communications in a variety of formats (e.g. executive presentations, communication plan, etc.).
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.
  • Highly skilled and experienced in change, project and/or program management principles and practices.
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule and implement business related projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and independent with the ability to work with people of all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft 365 suite of tools (Office, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) required.
  • Experience with process improvement and facilitation preferred.
  • Full time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.
