This dynamic and meaningful Sr. Financial Analyst opportunity is within a rapidly growing and newly acquired business of Thermo Fisher, Mesa Biotech. This role will be a business partner providing strategic financial support, analysis, and reporting to the team and will help drive forward the growth and profitability of the business. This includes supporting managers throughout the product development lifecycle, from resource estimation and investment modeling to project cost analytics. Further, the role will partner with leaders on operating expense trends, variance analytics, opportunity capture and risk mitigation actions. This position will work closely with finance and leadership to support and improve key customer reporting as well as partner with the team to achieve financial commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly OpEx reporting and forecasting which includes selling, G&A, marketing, and R&D activities
  • Partner with functional customers on critical metrics; create intuitive BI reporting focused on timely and useful insights
  • Provide financial modeling assistance for new product launches and lead subsequent project cost management analytics
  • Support monthly forecasting, annual planning, and the strategic long-term planning process
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach with a focus on automation, enhancing processes, and elevating business partner support where applicable
  • Support other initiatives, special projects, requests, and ad-hoc financial analysis as the need arises

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of direct experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting within a large, professionally managed operating company
  • Excel user with strong data structuring, visualization and modeling skills
  • Experience with project and overhead management preferred
  • Experience with investment modeling preferred
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite, HFM and PowerBI preferred
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with peers, and upper management
  • Demonstrate mental awareness, flexibility, and adaptability to accommodate and balance needs across the organization (Regions, Divisions, Global Operations)
  • Self-motivated; bias for action
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
