Wilshire is looking to a hire a Senior Associate Developer to join its Operations and Technology team. The ideal candidate has a penchant for customer service and a “hands on” approach to working with technology. A positive, service-oriented attitude is crucial to thrive in this role. The candidate also must have excellent communication skills–both oral and written–and good interpersonal skills. This position will serve as the lead developer on the Business Intelligence technical team. This team develops and deploys custom applications and reports to support Wilshire’s multi-billion dollar investment operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as team lead for Business Intelligence technical team, guiding and supporting the work of other programmers
  • Interface with the business team to understand business needs
  • Creatively design and develop applications, including application interfaces
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Enthusiastically guide projects and coordinate resources for the technical team
  • Document work thoroughly with high attention-to-detail

What you’ll have

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalents
  • 5+ years of IT development experience
  • Thorough background in modern programming languages (Python, C#, Nodejs, or Go)
  • Very strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience in reporting technologies such as SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or equivalents
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent ability to create test cases and scenarios based on specifications
  • High level of aptitude to learn new applications and development tools
  • Excellent ability to transform functional and nonfunctional needs into system requirements
  • Support, Troubleshooting, and Assist the Operations Team with any environmental issues that arise during application deployment in the Development, UAT, and Production environments
  • Experience with application development in the financial services or banking industries preferred but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite product, Elasticsearch, Redis Cache, Airflow experience is a plus
  • Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Jira, Confluence.
  • Excellent grasp of and expertise with test-driven development and continuous integration processes is a plus
  • Experience as a team lead, including project management responsibility
