Overview

The candidate will work on the Provisioning and Data services in TNS’s Communications Handset Services development team. This role is critical to delivering TNS services to our carrier partners’ customers and delivering revenue to the organization.Our software consumes and produces a lot of data. Your primary responsibility is to keep data flowing and ensure its quality and completeness.

Responsibilities

• The data architecture is built around Cassandra, Percona XtraDB, Spark and Flume.
• Data exploration with Zeppelin is used to drive data management tasks for your Reporting co-workers.
• You will have a role in maintaining and enhancing the carrier software infrastructure used by our customers and millions of their customers. Your knowledge with Perl, Java and Python will be essential to maintaining and developing software.
• Your experience with Cassandra, Spark and Flume is important for our data pipeline needs.
• Our Java projects build with Gradle (and occasionally Ant).
• Candidates will be responsible for administering Cassandra, Spark and MySQL/Percona clusters.
• The successful candidate must have strong problem-solving skills. They will use languages and technologies as tools and have a desire to see issues through to completion. Our data originates in Java applications used by mobile devices and carrier infrastructure.
• DevOps work: Cassandra Cluster, Percona XtraDB Cluster, GlusterFS, Zeppelin, Spark Cluster
• Red Data Audit Writing scripts to resolve multiple call filter issues

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of Software Development and Operations experience comprised of:
• 3 or more years of experience managing MySQL/Percona clusters
• 3 or more years of software development with Java
• 3 or more years of Linux administrative experience with Apache’s Cassandra, Spark and Flume applications
• Possess excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Have the desire and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong commitment to developing quality software
• Have an Agile Mindset
• Experience in the field of telecommunications is desired

Education And Years Of Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or the equivalent work experience. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible related technical experience.
• For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 – $130,000 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
